A Second Wind Narrative:
Worked hard. Looked successful. Was quietly burning out. Sound familiar? This page is for men 40+ done making excuses.

Months of training, early alarms, long weekend miles, and today it all came down to the first mile. One bad step on and my run was over before it really started.

I’m not going to pretend that doesn’t sting, literally and figuratively. But anyone who runs trails knows this is part of it. Roots, rocks, loose dirt, and uneven ground are what make trail running what it is, and the risk is part of the deal every time we head out. Some days the trail wins.

So I’m taking it as it comes. I’ll rest, do the rehab, and give my body the time it needs, even though patience isn’t my strong suit. The training isn’t wasted. That fitness and those miles are still mine, and they’ll be there when I’m ready. Better come sooner than later though because I’ve got a busy November.

I’m already looking forward to lacing up again. See you out there soon. 🏃‍♂️⛰️ by @asecondwindnarrative
