Celebrating 1 Year @people ✨

This week marks my first anniversary at PEOPLE Magazine and PEOPLE.com, and I’m reflecting on the incredible journey that got me here.

After being laid off along with the rest of the Entertainment Tonight editorial team last year, I knew I wanted to stay in the entertainment news industry, but never imagined I’d become a Weddings Writer. Now, it’s hard to picture myself doing anything else.

Hundreds of stories and millions of pageviews later, I’ve had the privilege of covering all things engagement and wedding-related within my small but mighty team, from exclusive celebrity content to everyday brides and grooms.

A publicist once told me my career sounded like something out of an early 2000s rom-com. And while I do occasionally feel like I’m living in the opening sequence of “The Devil Wears Prada” (minus the glamorous wardrobe), this job is as challenging as it is rewarding.

From the everyday tasks — writing, interviewing, researching and sourcing stories — to experiencing the excitement of breaking news days (Jeff Bezos and Lauren Sánchez Bezos’ wedding, Selena Gomez and Benny Blanco’s wedding, Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce’s engagement), I’ve cherished it all.

Some highlights over the past year:

⭐️ Transitioned from contractor to staffer
⭐️ Went on my first media trip
⭐️ Had several stories featured in print, alongside nearly 1,000 online
⭐️ Interviewed a wide range of celebrities (actors, musicians, influencers, athletes, and more)
⭐️ Interviewed wedding industry stars and professionals (Cake Boss Buddy Valastro, Say Yes to the Dress’ Randy Fenoli, Vera Wang, and more)
⭐️ Covered exclusive weddings and engagements (Yvette Nicole Brown, Hannah Brown, Brody Jenner, Hunter Fieri, Britt Stewart, Bradley Steven Perry, Cierra Ramirez, Vanessa Morgan, MrBeast, and more)

I’m incredibly thankful for my colleagues, whose talent and support inspire me to grow every day. So grateful to be doing what I love — and excited for what’s ahead! by @ash.robinette

I’m graduating! — in August, but am walking this May!

I’ll be graduating summa cum laude from Arizona State University's Walter Cronkite School of Journalism and Mass Communication, and Barrett, The Honors College, with a Bachelor of Arts degree in journalism and mass communication, and a minor in digital audiences.

I couldn’t have done it without the love and support from my friends and family. Thank you to everyone who helped me get here! I’m excited for the next chapter ✨
