Closing out 2025 with an epic write up from @eater_sf written by @mattatouille! Our second year has been a major year of growth. I sit here speechless that what was a little idea in 2023 to bring Korean food to Carmel, my hometown, turned into an enormous dining room of buzz.

I’ve always said the menu reflects ME, a hapa Korean girl raised in California with a love for pasta. No professional culinary background, just down-to-earth fun recipes that are a blend of my heritage.

It’s surreal to watch @jejucarmel catch on like wildfire and grateful would be an understatement🫰🏽 taken in Carmel by the Sea by @ash_wolff

It’s time I shared that the whispers are true… I leased the corner of San Carlos & 6th and am excited to be working on my long time dream of “Brunch at Banju”!

10+ years of dreaming about this space with the cute palm tree, working 70+ hour weeks for years, missing birthdays, weddings, baby showers, working the coffee shop to Pangaea to Jeju… it was all for this, @banjucarmel.

Thank you to friends & family who have been keeping their lips sealed since April lol. I was trying to find the right time to share but thank you @lenak21 with @sfchronicle_food for the push in your story today🌴

P.s. as many of you have suggested to burn sage to cleanse the building, we popped a bottle instead lol🍾 by @ash_wolff
