On September 29, I celebrated my 8th birthday here in Big Sur. Eight abundant years of friendships, community, long dinners, countless bottles of wine, sunsets, and adventures, and I’m eternally grateful for how this wild corner of the world has become our home. And after everything this past August brought with the fires, getting to celebrate another birthday right here in our back yard felt especially meaningful. Our house was full of friends, bubbles, music, good food on the table, and so much love filling my cup. Big Sur has given us so much over these eight years—the most beautiful friendships, a community that shows up for one another, a deeper appreciation for the simple things, and a place that has become such a huge part of who we are. Feeling very loved, very lucky, and incredibly grateful to be home for this one. Cheers to 43, to my husband @snazzyant , Otto, all of the people who make life so full, and to another trip around the sun.

OCTOBER 16–17, 2026 📍 ASILOMAR, PACIFIC GROVE WINE, FOOD & COMMUNITY — ROOTED ON THE MONTEREY COAST @visitasilomar and @slhwine bring you Tides & Terroir,  a two-day celebration of the Monterey coast — its wines, its cuisine, its makers, and the multigenerational farming community that has shaped one of California’s most distinctive food and wine regions. Both days unfold at Asilomar State Beach & Conference Grounds, Monterey Peninsula’s “Refuge by the Sea.” Friday October 16th the weekend opens with A Coastal Table dinner in Merrill Hall, and continues the next day with Tasting by the Tides, an outdoor strolling wine, food, and artisan market in the Grand Cypress Meadow, just steps from the Pacific. The Monterey coast has a story worth telling. It begins in the cold waters of the bay, moves through the fog-laced hillside farms and valley fields, and ends in the highlands cellars where the Pacific wind shapes every bottle. Our local community has lost a remarkable young business owner and friend who passed away yesterday, Loie (rhymes with toy) Nimri. His Uncle left him the legacy of Anton & Michel after being in business in Carmel over forty years. Alongside his wife and cousin, he opened a new restaurant last July even naming it in honor of his grandmother, Nora. Tomorrow, we are coming together to create a sidewalk memorial of flowers right in front of Anton & Michel. 15 years of filling your glass. 🥂 They say, ‘Love what you do and you’ll never work a day in your life.’ While there’s truth to that, I think longevity is about so much more. It’s about growing, adapting, and never being afraid to learn. It’s about showing up through the challenges, celebrating the milestones, and finding purpose in the journey. But above all, it’s always been about the people. I’ve been incredibly lucky to work alongside people who inspire me, challenge me, and believe in one another. People with different talents who come together to create something special. Over the years, coworkers have become family, and loyal members and guests have become a community that has shaped my life in ways I never expected. Every bottle opened, every milestone celebrated, every conversation shared, and every friendship made has meant more to me than words can express. Thank you to everyone who has been part of these last 15 years. You’ve made this journey one I’ll always be grateful for.
