I still can't put into words what an honor it was to be named the very first Teen/Senior Best Tap Artist at @pressplay Nationals in Las Vegas on Sunday! I spent an incredible 8 days dancing with my friends; learning from the most amazing faculty; as well as performing and competing with the largest and most talented group of dancers. So grateful to place 2nd among 14-year old Teen solos for " Circles" choreographed by @br3ndan_k ; 3rd overall Teen duo for "Jammin"; and Top 21 Teen Male Artist of the Year by audition and for my solo "Gravity". Both "Jammin" and "Gravity" were choreographed by @lillianmariehughes. The 2025 World Tap Championships in Prague was such an amazing experience! It was such an honor to represent Team USA, bringing home a SILVER medal for my solo "Drifting" in Junior 1 male solo and 4th overall for " I Believe" my Junior 1 duo with Alston. Both dances were choreographed by @lillianmarieball . Special thanks to @michelle.minertap and her dancers for welcoming us and cheering us on "HEY!"; as well as @suzyguarinohall for coming up with " Hey!" and helping to make our duo and my solo championship-ready! Thanks to our @lisa_waddell and @danceconnectionaz and our friends who joined us via livestream for their constant support. I was so fortunate to meet new friends and reconnect with old friends in Prague. I am so grateful to Robert Planutis, Nancy Chippendale and the @usdscf for the 2025 Bill Fowler Scholarship! I’m moving up to Junior 2 and will be competing a solo, duo, small group, and production. β€’ How long have you been tap dancing? 10 years If you’ve competed at worlds before, name your favorite memory ~ It was competing my solo in the final round last year and earning a silver medalπŸ₯ˆ β€’ What do you consider your biggest accomplishment in tap so far? Being a member of Team USA and getting silver for my solo at worlds last year. Another most recent one is being named the first Teen/Senior Best Tap Artist at @pressplay Nationals this year. β€’ Name your favorite tap move/trick ~ Triple crossing flying shuffle β€’ Which brand of tap shoes do you like to wear? JSams! β€’ Who is the tap dancer that inspires you the most and why? Jimmy Slyde because I am inspired by his style of tap dancing. β€’ What is your dream song or concept to tap dance to? None really as I enjoy a wide variety of music. β€’ Name 3 fun facts about you ~ I like to flip and I used to be a competitive gymnast. I grew up in Lincoln, NE and did my dance training in ballet, tap and jazz there prior to moving to Arizona in the summer of 2023 to join @danceconnectionaz to whom I’m incredibly grateful for the flexibility and support that allow me to pursue other endeavors. Amazing National Tap Dance weekend at @tapvibechallenge competing my solo "Gravity" & duo "Jammin' " choreographed by @lillianmariehughes; and competing my 2nd solo "Circles" choreographed by @br3ndan_k for the 1st time on Saturday. "Gravity" was awarded top Teen Solo and highest scoring solo for the all-tap competition, my duo was 2nd overall Teen duo and awarded the " Swing & Swagger" judges award. I also made it to the final 2 in the improv round for Teen & Senior soloists. On Sunday I took a full day of classes from the incredible judges and faculty @jayjan300 @vikas_arun_ @sterlingxharris @dantelarataps @shannonkaminskidance @suzyguarinohall @br3ndan_k , assisting In @br3ndan_k ' s intermediate class; then performed in the Tap Dance Day showcase as a member of the @tapzen247 Pre-pro company. I also got to perform the dance from the @jayjan300 mini-residency and my solo "Gravity" as the Teen Solo winner. As one of 2 Choreographer Cup winners, I had the opportunity to debut "Magnus" a small group Dance I choreographed -- my first experience at choreography!
