Today was a long time coming, I should have seen Beetlejuice in New York in August of 2020 for my 21st. So here I am in London, managed to find 3 F1 cars on Oxford Street.
I saw a new musical with a fantastic concept, I slept in a capsule hotel and honestly had the best time.
This morning i took a trip to the Wes Anderson archive at the design museum and saw the puppet that inspired my name face to face. by @ashjlclark

So a couple Fridays ago I did stand up comedy for the first time. It was a life long dream come true! Also thank you to everyone that came and supported me, I don't think I would have done it without knowing y'all would be there for me!
And I will be doing it again soon!
Abit of my set is at the end of the pictures so spoilers if you didn't see it live ๐Ÿ˜Š taken in Hot Water Comedy Club by @ashjlclark

2016 was a time.
I was in therapy for the second time in life.
I dating a man for some reason (compulsory heterosexuality).
I felt seen for the first time by several lovely people.
You would not think 2016 Jess and 2026 Ash are the same person. We share favourite movies and special interests. But she'd be appealed at my love for sports.
She won't be aware of the neurodiversity but would feel so alone and not know why.
She wouldn't believe i have 13 tattoos! Or that I pierced my ears.
She wasn't happy with her body and won't understand that's gender dysphoria for a couple years.
I cut my hair properly for the first time that year.
And Jess won't believe they are now a trans man on T waiting for top surgery.
She was so depressed and doesn't know the joys she has to come.
Quidditch, University, LARP, Rugby, being part of a blended family, camping, theatre, joining the union and all my mental health struggles.
I love Jess so much, I'll never forget who i was. I just wish i could give her a hug. by @ashjlclark

Is this how people felt when they saw Hamilton at the public? Is the first thing i said when Paddington the musical finished. Not only do i think this show will bring light to the fantastic little people who help bring this iconic icon to life (probably more than the live action snow white did). As soon as the 'young man' character walks on stage i knew it would be an allegory for refugees. Paddington as a character is loved all and is quintessentially British but he is also based on evacuated children from World War 2. Paddington makes the lost feel found. This show felt home and i saw its third preview. Also tom fletcher needs to write more musicals, marmalade is going to win someone as an olivier award.
Don't walk, run to see this musical! You will not be disappointed taken in Paddington Station by @ashjlclark

Pride 2025 ๐Ÿณ๏ธโ€โšง๏ธ๐Ÿณ๏ธโ€๐ŸŒˆ
When they cancelled pride a couple months ago, i was distraught. Last year, due to their relationship barclays i did not want to march i took my trans flag but did not wear it. This year I made signs for all my friends and wore my trans flag with pride. Also all my lovely friends specifically wanted trans specific signs which helped me feel so safe.
I'm so happy with how yesterday turned out, i felt comfortable enough to be ask for accommodations and be as prepared as possible (i had like a mary poppins bag if you needed something i had it). In the space of just over 13 hours, i felt my relationships deepen with this group of people who are dear to me. So if you are reading this, thank you bluebirds for helping me feel not only safe but be myself ๐Ÿฆ๐Ÿ‰ taken in Pier Head Liverpool by @ashjlclark

I keep thinking i need for a post about all this trans stuff. And i know I dont need to but here we are.
As I slowly realised over the last couple years that i am trans, people have been alot more aware and accommodating. And that has been fantastic.
But the fear has been growing, every so often I can't announce my trans ness as safely as i used to.
I'm not as proud as i used to be and its very sad.
At the protest today someone said what is happening right now is our generation's section 28 and that hit home.
I'm scared. Scared i can't grow into the person i know i am becoming.
In my life I'm so lucky to be surrounded by amazing friends and family especially in this harrowing time.
But i guess i have to just understand that life is going to be scary for a little while. taken in Derby Square, Liverpool L2 7XS by @ashjlclark

Hi I'm Ash.
No, really. If you didn't know Ash has been my name to quite a few people for the past couple years and at the end of last year I decided 2024 would be the year of Ash. I have taken steps towards becoming more me, which meant taking some scary steps like telling family and people at work.
But I also decided one more thing: I would change my name officially on a day that would celebrate me - Ash Wednesday! Now I am an atheist so this is not a religious thing and I'm just celebrating the day after pancake day tbh. I'm just pleased that it works out so well and forces me to sort out stuff early in the year so I can take the rest of the year doing all the official Ash-based stuff.
So thank you for reading this and thank you to everyone who has been so helpful during the start of this transition. I'm so happy to be Ash because people have been so happy for me. by @ashjlclark

Happy 60th Doctor Who!
โ™ฅ๏ธโ™ฅ๏ธโž•๐ŸŸฆ
This show is so much a part of how I am. Being autistic feels like being an alien and the first time I found that as a good thing was in doctor who.
I fell out of love with doctor who for several years but last year I cried at the power of the doctor after the old regenerations came on screen and I'm back in it for the long haul.
Since I was little I knew I was different and I always felt like the doctor and with my newly discovered transness that adds more levels to it as well. So these 3 specials aren't for me now, they are for the child in the photo (not Ben being nosey).
And the passion I have felt talking about doctor who recently before the specials have even aired have been fantastic so I can't wait until Saturday. taken in T.A.R.D.I.S. by @ashjlclark

It may not look like it but this is a rainbow that I saw whilst walking Harvey ๐Ÿถ. This festive season has been fun, my family have only been slightly exhausting.
And I'm going to miss Harvey so much, we are looking after him for my aunt and uncle. But he is so lovely and I swear he can tell when I'm depressed (which is always).
2023 is a year to look forward to, Eurovision, another graduation (hopefully), another dissertation, and a proper job (hopefully).
