Modesty Fairy in Sir Peter Wright’s Sleeping Beauty 🤍🤍🤍
Proud to have made it back on stage this season after surgery and a 14 month break due to my knee injury. I put my heart, soul and a lot of hard work into being able to dance again after dealing with so much uncertainty and pain for a very long time. There were so many moments I thought I would not be able to dance again.
These days I go weeks without thinking about my knee or the pain that used to follow me like a shadow. I have learned to love and appreciate my body, what it can achieve.
I am now coming to the end of this season with happiness and a full heart ❤️ and to all the special people who helped get me here I am truly grateful.
I never find myself having the confidence to post videos of myself, but I have a new found love for my work and this art form. It feels like living my childhood dream everyday. taken in Hungarian State Opera by @ashleejcrowe

Unfortunately for a while now I have had to take a step back from ballet due to a serious knee injury. I wanted to share because this has been a very challenging time for me physically and mentally. Looking over these photos from when my body was healthy makes me so grateful that I get to do this job, I miss it so much. Living with lots of pain and difficulty doing mundane things like walking, sleeping and exercising has really put life into perspective for me. I wish I could go back in time and realise how lucky I was to be able to move freely and without pain. Now all I can do is remember that my dancing and outlook on life will be forever changed from this injury and I will never take my body for granted again. Right now I am putting all the energy I can into trying to get better even though progress is slow and hard. Sometimes I wish my injury was more straightforward, but I was not dealt those cards, so all I can do is try everything possible to recover. All I want is to be back doing what I love so I hope things turn for the better soon. by @ashleejcrowe
