The fitness industry loves to celebrate the grind.

Research consistently shows adaptation happens during recovery, not during the workout itself.

Rest isn’t the opposite of training.

It’s part of training.

Chiropractic care isn’t just for backs. Dr. Ashley explains that there’s more to chiropractic care than treating spines.

From shoulders and hips to knees and ankles, movement matters everywhere.

Every body deserves care that meets them where they’re at.

The wellness industry sells a lot of things.

Human connection still beats most of them.

Pride Month is a reminder that community changes health outcomes.

And that’s something worth talking about.

This shouldn’t be controversial.

You deserve to understand what’s being recommended and why.

At our clinic, informed consent isn’t a checkbox. It’s an ongoing conversation.

Pride Month is a good reminder that body autonomy matters everywhere, including healthcare.

It had been a while since I had gone camping – nearly 3 years – and I was reminded quickly of how much nature fulfills and calms every part of me. I realized that whatever stressed me in the city seemed to disappear and become unimportant in the bigger picture of life

One of the biggest mistakes in healthcare is reducing people to labels.

Pain is complicated.

The good news is that movement, exercise, recovery strategies, manual therapy, and supportive healthcare relationships can all help improve outcomes.

The goal isn’t to fix who you are.

The goal is to help you function better.

In a world that continually works to disconnect us, it can become increasingly hard to find emotional and physical connection with our bodies. Do we need this connection? What does it give us? By being connected with our selves, it gives us the best quality of life possible, and an ability to do anything we can imagine.

Most people don’t need more motivation.
They need to reconnect with their body again.
My newest piece is about movement, awareness, injury, performance, and the quiet disconnect modern life creates inside us.
Part of an ongoing series with a theme of connection, tying into my upcoming memoir/book project.

Susan comes in and explains that she has been feeling wrist pain for the last 6 months. She is certain that something is wrong with her wrist, yet no matter what she does, it hasn’t gone away. She has seen multiple practitioners, yet it still is not improving. Now she’s missing tennis, and after completely taking a month off, she tried to play again 2 days ago—but within 5 minutes, the pain returned.
Colin comes into the clinic and explains that while playing soccer, he has been experiencing right ankle pain for the last 3 months. It nags and feels annoying, but he is still able to play, though with some soreness. He’s playing through it, but it has been lingering for quite some time.
Jeff bent down to pick up his duffle bag after a great workout. Suddenly, he couldn’t move. He needed help just to get out of the car to come into the clinic. Every movement sends a shooting pain through his torso. His back is so painful it makes him nauseous, and he rates it as a 9/10.
Three completely different situations.
But one thing these cases won’t tell you is how serious the problem actually is…..
