Finally made it to a @meetcutebookshop event to meet @author.elizabeth.helen for the release of Stolen by Shadows (Book 6)!!! 😱😍 The cover is absolutely stunning, and the event was so much fun!

I also got the chance to meet some amazing new book girlies while we were there, which made the day even more special. 🩶📚

A little friendship appreciation because I wouldn’t be able to do these buddy reads without my girl! 🥹🩷

We met a few years ago at the veterinary hospital we worked at together, and once I found out she loved books, I knew we needed to be friends! I’m definitely the extrovert friend who pulled her out of her introvert shell haha, and I absolutely love how close we’ve gotten over the years.

Thank you for always being there for me and for putting up with all my chaos. 🫶🏼
I love all of our food, Disney, and reading adventures together, and I can’t wait for all the memories still to come!

Grady Green is a successful thriller author, struggling with his personal life and his marriage to Abby. The night Grady gets the news that his book has become a bestseller, his wife suddenly goes missing on her drive home. Her disappearance starts to affect Grady’s life and his writing. His agent, Kitty, encourages him to get out of town and stay in a cabin on the Isle of Amberly.

This one was a little slow for me in the beginning, and it took me a while to get into the story. Eventually, things started to pick up and really pulled me in. I found myself wondering what was going on with the island and whether Abby was actually still alive.

It’s hard to know who to trust throughout this book, and there were so many questions surrounding what was really happening. The plot twist definitely left me at a loss for words. I was not expecting the story to end the way it did, and that ending definitely caught me off guard.

This book was really good and kept me hooked from the beginning, but it was also dark and a little heavy at times. Meredith and her 6-year-old daughter, Delilah, go missing shortly after another woman in their neighborhood goes missing.

The dual timeline between 11 years ago and the present was full of twists and turns that kept me guessing throughout the whole book. Kidnapping, murder, secrets, and lies—this book definitely had me in my feels at times while reading it. I was constantly trying to piece everything together and figure out what really happened!

I had to check out another book by this author after loving Local Woman Missing.

When a Facebook post about a missing girl goes wrong, it leads to a series of spiraling events. Two families go on vacation at a lakeside resort leads to 2 missing girls, families mourning, and everyone trying to figure out what happened to them.

The twists and turns in this book had me in shock and completely addicted to this audiobook. I loved the suspense and not knowing who you could trust from beginning to end. It had me constantly questioning everything and everyone. People believing someone is something they aren’t made this story even more intriguing.

I completely did not expect that ending!

Definitely recommend putting this one on your TBR if you haven’t read it yet. by @ashleysbooksandsips

Haunting Adeline

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️✨

I finally stepped into my dark romance era, and it has not disappointed yet! 🖤 Definitely check the trigger warnings before picking this one up.

I had to see what all the hype was about, and it completely lived up to it. I absolutely loved Zade and his story. One of my favorite moments was when he covered the room in roses for Addie, and later we learned the meaning behind the roses. 🌹

Adeline is a horror author who inherits her grandmother’s mansion, Parsons Manor. While settling into the eerie estate, she discovers her great-grandmother’s journal and becomes determined to uncover the truth behind her unsolved murder. The mystery woven throughout the story kept me hooked just as much as the romance.

Zade is a wealthy cybersecurity expert and activist whose mission is to take down human traffickers. Oh my gawd… Zade. 😂 He’s dark, terrifying, morally gray, and somehow completely irresistible. The tension between him and Addie had me flying through the pages, constantly telling myself, “Just one more chapter!”

That ending though… 😱 I was not prepared for that cliffhanger! I can’t wait to jump into Hunting Adeline and see what happens next.

Sorry I’ve been a little MIA on here
Dealing with a lot of emotions… about a month ago my Gma passed away which has been really rough on the family so I’ve been spending a lot time with family right now.

Decided to share my messy shelves for the first time.. def need to find some time to organize and clean them up 😩plz don’t judge my mess hahah but here’s a lil peak of the diff genres I read🩶

I hope everyone is having a good weekend! I am def sick of this Cali heat wave and wish it felt more like fall time.

Happy Release Day to
The Sweetest Fiend by @ravenkennedybooks!

I absolutely fell in love with the Plated Prisoner Series, so when I heard @inbloombookery was hosting this event, I immediately purchased tickets! It was such an amazing event, and I’m so happy I got the chance to meet Raven Kennedy.

I had such an amazing time last night celebrating @veereadsatmidnight’s birthday a little late, meeting a few Bookstagram friends for the first time, @kris_reads_things, @cejreads1409 and seeing old friends I haven’t seen in years, @rhondasreadss.

This Summer Will Be Different

I will say…reading all of these Carley Fortune books has me needing another trip to Canada ASAP!!! 🇨🇦✨ The way she captures the beauty of these small towns makes me want to pack my bags and go.

The chemistry between Lucy and Felix pulled me in from the very beginning. Even though Lucy tried her best to avoid falling for her best friend’s little brother, they couldn’t deny the connection between them. Every summer they found their way back to each other in Prince Edward Island, and their love continued to grow year after year.

I loved watching Felix be patient, thoughtful, and understanding while Lucy worked through her fears and abandonment issues. Their story was sweet, emotional, and reminded me that sometimes you have to let yourself be vulnerable to find the love you’ve always wanted.

Meet Me at the Lake by Carley Fortune
⭐️⭐️⭐️

Fern is struggling with whether she should take over her family’s lakeside resort after the unexpected loss of her mother. When Will, a wealthy businessman who once dreamed of becoming an artist, unexpectedly reappears ten years after they first met, he offers to help save the struggling resort.

Fern and Will are navigating grief, mental health struggles, and the opportunity for a second chance.

This one just didn’t do it for me. I was really hoping to love it because the small-town, lakeside setting was exactly the kind of vibe I enjoy. I did like the dual timeline, getting to see Fern and Will’s relationship develop ten years ago while also watching them reconnect in the present.

For me, though, the story was much slower than I expected, and I had a hard time connecting with Will. His disappearing acts and lack of communication became frustrating, making it difficult for me to fully root for their romance. While I appreciated the themes of grief, healing, and second chances, this one just wasn’t a favorite for me. by @ashleysbooksandsips

Last weekend, while I was in Nashville for a veterinary conference, I found a bookstore to stop in and check out what they had. The store was huge and had so many different genres, stationery items, sweaters, and, of course, plenty of books!

I will always look for a bookstore wherever I’m traveling to lol. It’s basically a requirement at this point. 📚

Charlie Florek was the guy in the yellow speedboat captured in a photo Ali took when they were both 17. Years later, fate brings them back together while Ali is spending the summer with Nan, and the chemistry between these two is instant. Charlie’s playful, flirty personality had me hooked right away!

This was such a cute slow-burn romance! ☀️ I loved the banter between Charlie and Ali.. Their connection felt natural, and I loved seeing them find comfort, healing, and happiness throughout the summer.

Another beautiful Carley Fortune summer romance that makes me want to pack my bags and head back to Canada!
