I had the pleasure of dressing the nearly 400 Grass Bunny’s for Super Bowl. It was a laborious feat but so worth it. Shout out to Costume Designer @iammoniquelauren and my husband @fernlegadoe, I’m so proud of you for having your hand in this historic process. To the entire 60+ costume team, we did that!

Today, I, Ashton Nicholas Pina, have an independently and self-produced feature film available on VOD across North America and Canada. I didn’t wait for the right amount of money, a greenlight or permission; I had a goal and made small steps towards something much larger. The Creator will always provide. @nanasboysfilm screened at internationally recognized film festivals like @insideoutfestival @newfest and @outonfilm while winning awards at @black_alphabet and @bmorefilmfest ultimately securing distribution from @breakingglasspictures. I am proof that if you courageously pursue your dreams, they will come true.

There’s not enough films about Black Queer folks, especially intimate partnerships, and I’m proud to contribute to a cannon of characters that deserve many many more stories to be told. I encourage you to buy or rent the film on the digital platform of your preference (Apple, Amazon, Google, Vudu or Vimeo) and share the roller coaster journey of Amari and Q with a friend or two. Thank you for your support!

I’m so grateful to the extremely talented group of folks who helped steer this ship along the way. BTW, 41% of my crew identifies as female, non-binary or trans. Something I’m also very proud of.

I hope you enjoy. by @ashtonsdreams

It was such an honor to welcome the community to @regentsantamonica for an unforgettable evening celebrating love and purpose.

Every moment of Pacific Pride reflected the power of coming together to support LGBTQIA+ people and @projectangelfood with its life-changing mission of delivering nutritious meals to people facing critical illness.

Thank you to our incredible partners @annndactionphotobooth @campariamerica for making the night so special. Together, we celebrated with intention and made an impact that extends far beyond the evening.

With subtle, vulnerable performances from lead actors David J. Cork and Jared Wayne Gladly, 'Nana's Boys' focuses on the intimate life of a couple who are confronted with the fact that their relationship is not as solid as they thought. Forced into a mandatory lockdown in the wake of an explosion, lovers Amari and Q are left to consider their life together - and whether it's worth holding on to.

@jasonroars said it best “Connection is the most valuable experience we can create.”

I had the pleasure of collaborating with @nicolekang to celebrate AAPI Heritage Month at @regentsantamonica by hosting a panel on exploring what it means to build a career on your own terms. The conversation centered on refusing to fit into existing systems and uplifting others along the way.

Closing out Pride Month with @ashtonsdreams talking about the importance of telling our open stories. Like he said, the stories we choose to tell right now set the terms for the next hundred. What gets made. What gets seen. What the next generation gets to point to and say, I want one like that. So document your life. Tell the story. Especially now.

This is the last Odejuma for the month of June, and I can’t think of a better note to end Pride Month on than this one. The full conversation is on Apple Podcasts, Spotify, YouTube , and everywhere you stream your podcasts. Link in my bio. by @ashtonsdreams

My first Sundance was in 2016 for @the_blackhouse by way of @carolannshine @bricksond and @inukaornuka and since then I had the pleasure of going back a few times. This one was a special one! I’m confident the future of @sundanceorg is brighter in Boulder. Until next time! taken in Park City, Utah by @ashtonsdreams
