What if the door to your next chapter only opens when you return to where it all began? ✨⁣

I still don’t have the right words to share my experience in Baja. I have tried with a few of my closest friends but the truth is some things aren’t meant to be explained. They’re meant to be felt. That’s what the Salvaje Wild Woman retreat has been for me these past several months: a feeling that keeps unfolding, long after I got on the plane ride home.⁣
⁣
I signed up thinking it was simple. My first time away from my girls in over three years. A yoga retreat, a reward for being an ever present mama - a reset & reconnection to myself, for my 40th birthday. A few days alone in the sun before I turned the page into a new decade.⁣

What I received instead was a mirror ♥️⁣
⁣
Surrounded by the desert of Todos Santos & the open ocean + a group of women who each walked in from completely different lives — different paths, different wounds, different dreams — we somehow ended up walking the same road together. Every single one of them handed me something I didn’t know I needed: a perspective, an emotion to explore, a lesson I’m still unwrapping. I carry a piece of each of them with me now, every single day.⁣
⁣
Between sunrise breathwork, the temazcal, cacao ceremony under the stars, and hours of going inward in ways I didn’t know I was brave enough for - something in me quietly rearranged itself. What started as a birthday getaway became a full perspective shift. A life-path shift. Something in me is genuinely, remarkably different than it was before I landed in Baja and I’m still integrating all of it, still discovering new layers months later.⁣
⁣
I’ll share more of this journey in the months to come as there’s so much I’m still living into. Thank you, Mona, my lifelong friend & to Carmen for inviting me into a sacred space you have created that I intrinsically know has monumentally shifted so many women before + after me. Thank you Juliana for holding a space so sacred, so wild, so safe that women like me could finally exhale and go inward without fear. I will never forget this. It shifted something in me that I don’t taken in Baja California Sur, Mexico by @asimplerperspective

Soulrest — noun. A deep, internal peace. A state where the mind, body, and spirit feel aligned, calm, and unburdened ✨⁣
⁣
This long weekend is spent exactly where my heart wants to be — unplugged with family, golden hour on the water, quiet mornings, slow evenings, everyone together. No agenda, just presence. It’s its own kind of Soulrest & spending it with my sister is the type of tradition I will never give up.⁣
⁣
But even here, my mind keeps wandering to where I I crave going next. This year has been such a beautiful season of solo wellness travel — Sensei Lanai, A Four Seasons Resort, gave me some of the most grounding, restorative days of my life. Then in February, Salvaje Wild Woman retreat completely reshaped me. Now it’s time to go inward again ✨⁣

Three places have my heart right now:⁣

@nihi — I’ve been dreaming of booking this for my next birthday. Waking up to wild horses running along the shoreline over breakfast, surrounded by the Edge of Wildness itself, feels like exactly the kind of magic I want to celebrate another year of life with. 🐎🌊⁣
⁣
@nimmobayresort — floating saunas tucked into the Great Bear Rainforest, daily yoga, total wild reconnection. A dream I keep circling back to.⁣
⁣
@civanaresort — this one might be happening sooner than you think🧘🏼‍♀️😍 Sunrise hikes, private yoga sessions, poolside reading, sound baths, and a rooftop obstacle course in the Sonoran Desert — I have a feeling the desert isn’t done with me yet.⁣
⁣
Grounding, movement, beautiful food, slowing down, deep breathing with beautiful views, poolside Pilates, yoga, wide open sky and always, always water. That’s my Soulrest, and I’m chasing it again.⁣

I recommend walking around the city with a friend and choosing a color. Use your phone or a camera of your choice to take pictures of that color wherever you see it. @asimplerperspective and I had a blast! I chose yellow. by @asimplerperspective

Every year we take the time to commemorate over the years past and the years to come. And we love to show our love by doing a photo shoot with an artist that we admire!

This year while in Baja we met @asimplerperspective and were thrilled to find out she does 35mm shoots 🎞️ we HAD to dip into her creation and are so happy with the roll we shot together!

So excited to have these memories, they came out PERFECT😍 taken in Baja California Sur by @asimplerperspective

Here’s the thing ~ she asked for words, it’s not about me or the painting, it’s about these words that I want you to feel. That’s what all art is about, you look at it, you taste it, hear it, experience it, ~ how does it make you feel is what it’s about it’s what you remember why you talk about it and share it and have it surround you, play it to change your mood.

Anyways @asimplerperspective took those words and delivered it in her own form of art on film. Magic of creating and collaborating with artists and trusting in their vision. Thanks babe 🫶🏽

This painting is soft, even softer than this photo in real life. It’s meant to be, and in the softness we lean into curiosity and that builds trust, her name is La Fe. For that reason. Having faith, faith in this moment, in yourself, in others. You give it freely in softness, and in softness it is received.

i wrote a book + it’s finally here ✨

part of me wants to say i never expected this, but i have memories as early as 8 years old of desires to be an author … writing detailed pages recounting my weekend while my peers agonized the task. finding myself as a young adult writing my parents apology notes after arguments. innately honoring this means for easeful expression of emotions with more than a few handwritten love notes to friends across time + continents

writing has been there for me all along, allowing me space + means to process. an intimate place of reflection; authentic + raw + genuine

and yet, as i anxiously struggle to write this caption, i realize so much about the magic of a journal is the protection it offers from being witnessed … we share the realest + most vulnerable version of ourselves because we only have to resist our own self-judgement + once you’re past that, you get to be the authentic story teller of your life. it is here, that your true self lives, free from fear + perception. this is where we begin to practice showing up in the world in this way

so let me invite you into my own journal. let me show you that there is no shame in your narrative, no right or wrong way to recount. let me offer you permission to be poetic + fantastical + melodramatic + uncertain + hopeful + creative in your processing. let me exemplify how you can amplify your life by simplifying it

I am forever indebted to the flower, most notably La Rosa. Forever living in the month of May. My muse, my mother, my friend, my healer, my teacher, my heart, my art. The fact that she showed up everytime, all the time, and let me pluck her no matter what proves that something greater is at play. With each prayerful pluck, I promise every single one I will share their essence, their soul, their spirit, their body, their magic, and their medicine through my own service and my soul expression to encapsulate the ephemeral and infinite beauty, story, and memory encoded in each.

Thank you Sophia for manifesting the many faces of god through the feminine form of the flower and Earth Mother’s plant beings. It is my humble attempt to reciprocate an ineffable gratitude that often feels simultaneously enormous and falling short through the process of co-creating Magdalene Medicine, Fine and Healing Arts.

Each and every flower and plant is like no other, but also like all. Each contain multitudes of myth and medicine. Their tales transcend written history, are non-linear, sometimes oracular, most always felt. There is no denying the imprint of a flower or plant spirit, as soon as it speaks to you an entire new world of silent and subtle language awakens. Whether they’re whispers or snaps, you now know you’re never alone, always a friend when you need one.
