Today felt like a dream. Being invited on the @thetodayshow TodayShow, showing that the work I am putting in really is resonating with parents! 🤍
Here’s what I recommended to Sydney families for easy, kid friendly days out:

1. Tumbalong Park, @darlingharbour
Playground, water play, and yes, ice cream nearby. The kind of spot you can stay for hours without needing a second plan.
2. A simple culture walk
@artgalleryofnsw → picnic in the @botanicsydney → @statelibrarynsw Walkable, calm, and perfect for mixed ages.
3. Creature at @carriageworks + Everleigh Green
A fun indoor stop followed by a 15 to 20 minute, pram friendly walk to great open ended play at Eveleigh Green.

If you’re a Sydney family, download the Playtime Planner app now and start planning your week. Link in Bio.

If you’re outside of Sydney, tell me where you’re from so I can come to you next! 💛 taken in Sydney, Australia by @ask.andee

Well… this feels like a pretty big moment 💗

What started with me, two little kids and a LOT of time spent searching for somewhere to go has somehow become Ask Andee.

I started sharing playgrounds because getting out of the house with little kids wasn’t always easy for me. I wanted to know where we could go, what was actually worth the effort, whether there was coffee nearby 😂 and what else we could do while we were there.

Somewhere along the way, that little idea grew.

I’ve now personally visited 500+ playgrounds and built a collection of more than 2,500 things to do with kids across Sydney.

And today, Ask Andee is entering its next chapter.

Ask Andee is going paid 💗

I’ve wrestled with this decision for a long time, but I want Ask Andee to keep growing. I want to keep finding the hidden gems, supporting brilliant little businesses, adding new places and events, building new features and making the app better and better.

For that to happen, I need to make it sustainable.

And to everyone who downloaded Ask Andee before I ever asked you to pay for it, told your friends, shared my posts and backed this slightly crazy idea…

Thank you. Truly.

You get something special because you were here first 🥹💗

Swipe for everything you need to know →

And if you’re new here, hi 👋

I probably wasn’t meant to show you this yet…

But Como Pleasure Grounds playground is ALMOST finished and we managed to sneak a very quick peek.

And according to our six-year-old playground correspondent:

“This is about to be the Shire’s favourite playground.”

Honestly… he might be right.

The new playground is looking SO good, with a huge paddle-steamer play structure, slides, climbing, swings, spinning equipment, inclusive play AND water play.

But the best bit might actually be the location.

🏊 FREE seasonal swimming pool
🌊 Tidal baths
☕ Cafés nearby
🍴 Restaurants nearby
🧺 Picnic tables + BBQs
🚲 Walking + cycling paths
🚗 Easy parking
🚻 Toilets
🌿 Georges River views

This has whole-day adventure written all over it. Playground → swim → lunch → exhausted children. DONE.

📍 Como Pleasure Grounds, Como

There’s no official opening date yet, but Sutherland Shire Council says it’s opening soon and from our sneaky peek, it’s looking VERY close.

SEND THIS to your Shire friends and consider your next playdate officially hinted at.

When your favourite things ARE the party theme 🥹💙

Hart is FIVE! 🥳

When we asked what he wanted for his birthday, choosing just one theme was never going to happen 😂

So we went with Hart’s Favourite Things.

🚂 Trains
🌈 Sensory play
💙 BLUE
🔢 Numberblocks
🍕 Pizza
🌈 And of course… fairy bread

Basically, Hart in party form 💙

And honestly, watching all of his favourite things come together in one very happy, very colourful afternoon was pretty special 🥹

The people who made it happen:

🚂 Entertainment: @traintopia.events + @Blossoms.Play
🎈 Decorations: @Bondi_Road_Balloons
🌈 Catering + THAT fairy bread: @OutfieldCafe
🍕 Pizza: @la_collina_italian
🎁 Gift balloons: @Twisty.Business
🎂 Cake + cupcakes: @DasMakesCakes
📸 Content: @_nickycreates
Five years of our beautiful Hart 💙

And I genuinely think “your favourite things” might be the best kids’ party theme ever.

Turns out baby classes aren’t just for the babies 🤍

I recently spent the morning at @thebabybook.club and yes, the babies were VERY cute. There were books, songs, music, movement, sensory play + lots of little hands exploring.

But what I loved most was watching the parents.

They were chatting. Laughing. Helping each other. Babies were playing together. Familiar faces were catching up.

It felt like a little community.

And when you’re in those baby years, having somewhere to go each week where your baby can explore and you can connect with other parents can be just as valuable as the class itself. 🤍

Each Baby Book Club session starts with a story and brings it to life through music, movement, instruments, props + sensory play. And babies are very much allowed to be babies. Feed them, cuddle them, let them crawl around. There’s no pressure for them to sit perfectly through a class.

Term 4 enrolments are now open 📚

📍 Paddington
📅 Mondays from 19 October
⏱️ 45 minute weekly sessions
✨ 8 week term | $225
🌱 4 Week Explorer Pass | $120

Know someone in their baby era? Send this their way 🤍

And for more baby classes, activities + things to do with little ones around Sydney, you’ll find them on Ask Andee.

Wait… the @SydneyOperaHouse is offering THIS much for FREE?! 👀

Wild Things has officially kicked off and there is SO much happening for kids these school holidays.

You can head down and check out all the FREE fun happening on the Forecourt, including giant swings, live performances, interactive installations + larger than life creatures, then step inside for even more free art, activities + creative spaces to explore.

There’s SWING, Iwagumi Air Scape, Puzzle, Erth’s Wild Rumpus, Plasmotopia + more happening across the festival. And yep, you can experience all of those without booking a ticket. 👀

BUT if you want to make it extra special, book a show. 🎭

There are shows for everyone from babies → toddlers → big kids → teens, with tickets starting from $35.

We saw ZOOOM and it was SO much fun. ✨ Think lights, music, dancing and eventually pretty much everyone up on their feet having a party 😂 Definitely not one where you’re checking your watch waiting for it to finish.

And this is such an easy one to turn into a full day out.

Grab some food, get an ice cream, explore the Opera House and then wander through @BotanicSydney. If you’ve still got energy, keep going to @ArtGalleryofNSW or find a quiet spot inside @StateLibraryNSW.

🚆 Easy public transport from Circular Quay
🎪 Loads of FREE fun
🎭 Ticketed shows from $35

For the kids who could talk about sharks, whales and everything under the sea ALL day… this school holiday experience is for them. @carriageworks @erthaustralia

Erth’s Shark Dive: Live on Stage brings science and art together through incredible life-sized puppets, immersive staging and storytelling inspired by Australia’s underwater environments.

Kids get to come face-to-face with some of the ocean’s most awe-inspiring animals, with sharks and prehistoric marine creatures brought to life right in front of them. The scale and movement of these puppets is pretty incredible.

This isn’t a show designed to make sharks the scary guys. It invites kids to think differently about them, exploring evolution, conservation and the relationship we have with these incredible animals.

This was the part that surprised me. It’s not loud, frantic kids’ entertainment. It feels beautiful, grounding and thoughtful while still completely holding their attention. There’s something pretty magical about watching kids become genuinely curious about the world around them.

And parents, you’re not just there to supervise 😂 There’s humour woven throughout, plenty of moments for the grown-ups and that lovely feeling of experiencing something genuinely fun together.

The show runs for around 50 minutes and is recommended for ages 5+. A really lovely length for a school holiday outing without committing to an entire day.

Carriageworks is a destination in itself these school holidays. Pair Shark Dive with the immersive Shipwreck Odyssey, explore what else is on in the precinct, grab something to eat nearby + if you’re visiting on a Saturday, wander through the Carriageworks Farmers Market too.

Definitely check the program before you go — there’s plenty happening beyond the sharks.

Erth’s Shark Dive: Live on Stage is at Carriageworks from 26 September–3 October. Tickets are $25 per person and are on sale now. 🦈🌊

Send this to your ocean-loving friends.

Looking for more ways to keep the kids busy these school holidays? Find playgrounds, activities, events, classes and family-friendly places across Sydney on Ask Andee. 💚

NEXT WEEK = SORTED 🙌

While your regular activities take a school holiday break… this one DOESN’T.

🌿 Wild Ones Sensory Play is running TWO sessions next week and it’s such a good one to lock in with your mums group.

Designed for ages 1+, there’s sensory play, messy play and plenty for little hands to explore — but here’s what I really loved: Ari is 6 and genuinely enjoyed it just as much as the little ones.

So if you’ve got an older sibling home for the holidays, BRING THEM 🙌

🐮 TUES 29 SEPT • FARM THEME
📍 By the Bay Cafe, Carss Park
⏰ 10am • 1 hour
💰 $30 one child • $40 for 2 siblings

🌿 FRI 2 OCT • SENSORY PLAY
📍 Our Father Cafe, Burraneer
⏰ 10am • 1 hour
💰 $30 one child • $40 for 2 siblings

And honestly, Imogen has NAILED the locations. Sensory play for them + coffee and snacks on demand for you. Everybody wins 😂

Sessions fill quickly, so I wouldn’t leave this one sitting in the group chat for three days 👀

📲 SEND THIS to your mums group and finally lock in that playdate you’ve all been trying to organise for weeks!
