What does it really mean to have a seat at the table?

For us, it means Ownership. Influence. Legacy. It means stepping into spaces where we’ve traditionally been underrepresented—not just as participants, but as decision-makers.

This Women’s History Month, we’re proud to share that three Black women-owned businesses— @hibiscusbrew , @brooklyntea , and @sugarhillicecream —have joined forces as equity partners in a multimillion-dollar airport venture.

Through our joint venture with @hmshost at JFK Terminal 5, we’ll be helping to manage and operate food businesses behind the scenes. It’s about reshaping what leadership looks like in the hospitality industry.

We’re small business owners who built from the ground up. And now, we’re stepping into a new chapter—one that not only secures a seat at the table but ensures more seats for those coming after us.

Changes are in the air. And this is just the beginning. ✨

Calling all new moms! Find your community at Sugar Hill Creamery🤍

Since 2018, SHMOMS has connected 300+ mothers in Harlem and beyond. Started by our cofounder @askpetrushka, our longest standing community group gives new moms a space to feel seen, heard, and supported.

Our next 6-week group starts this Thursday, October 15, with facilitated conversations about motherhood led by SHMOMS alum @chefleen. Come ask questions, share experiences, and build connections that continue through baby supply swaps, late night texts, and midweek walks long after the program ends.

We are so excited to introduce our next Harlemite, @bevysmith, Harlem native, author, actress, radio and television personality, and host of In Bed with Bevy!

We ran into Bevy in the neighborhood while she was on her way to pick up supplies for her sister Stephanie’s business, @misslollyskitchen, and naturally, we had to invite her over to make an ice cream flavor with us!

Miss Lolly was Bevy and Stephanie’s mother and the inspiration behind Miss Lolly’s Kitchen. Every Sunday, she would make a huge family meal complete with two meats, plenty of sides, and her homemade cakes and pies. One of Bevy’s favorites was her butter cake, served just the way Miss Lolly loved it, with a dollop of butter pecan ice cream on top. 🍰🍦

So we brought the two together and created Miss Lolly’s Butter Cake, our take on a family tradition and a sweet memory of Miss Lolly.

A portion of the sales from Miss Lolly’s Butter Cake will go back to @brosis512, an organization doing incredible work with young people right here in Harlem.

Our Harlemites Series is back, and we’re excited to share our new collab with Charles Pan-Fried Chicken.

For more than 50 years, Charles Pan-Fried Chicken has been a Harlem institution. Chef Charles Gabriel built a true neighborhood legacy, and today the business is in a new chapter under the leadership of Chef Quie, who once looked up to Chef Charles as a young neighbor of one of his earlier restaurants. Now, they’re building the next chapter together.

To celebrate, we’re dropping Sunday’s Sundaes — our unconventional sundae that brings together savory and sweet.
