Did you know breast density can affect how clearly a mammogram shows breast cancer? 👀

Dense breasts have more fibrous and glandular tissue, which appears white on a mammogram. Many breast cancers also appear white, so they can be harder to spot against dense tissue.

Breast density is common. About half of women over 40 in the U.S. have it. Having dense breasts doesn’t mean you have cancer, and mammograms are still an important screening tool. But it’s useful information for understanding your screening options and overall breast cancer risk.

Here’s what to ask your care team:
* Do I have dense breasts?
* What does my mammogram results letter mean?
* Should my screening plan be tailored to my individual risk?

Your breast health is part of your whole health. Tia’s Whole Health Exam is a place to talk through your preventive care, including your screening plan, with a team that walks you through your results.

This Indigenous Peoples’ Day, we’re recognizing the importance of health care that respects Indigenous women’s histories, communities, and individual needs.

Indigenous and Native American women represent hundreds of distinct Nations, communities, and traditions. Yet access to culturally informed care can still be challenging, and many health care systems have not adequately served Indigenous communities.

At Tia, we believe care should listen to your experiences, consider your whole health, and work alongside the care you already receive. From preventive screenings to reproductive, metabolic, heart, and mental health, your care should reflect your individual needs.

Every person deserves care that respects who they are and supports their health.

October 10 is World Mental Health Day. 🧠 Mental health care for women can be more than therapy.

Chronic stress can affect sleep, energy, hormones, digestion, and overall health. Sometimes, what feels like burnout or anxiety may have physical contributors worth exploring, too.

At Tia, we look at the whole picture to help you understand what may be contributing to how you feel. Your care plan may include medication, lifestyle support, lab testing, therapy referrals, and more, based on your needs.

This World Mental Health Day, start with a Mental Health Assessment through the link in bio.

The goal isn’t just to live longer. It’s to have more healthy years. ❤️

For women, healthy aging can look different, especially as hormone, metabolic, cardiovascular, and other health changes begin to shift in midlife.

And sometimes, those changes don’t show up as an obvious problem on a routine lab panel.

That’s why longevity care should be about more than chasing numbers. It should look at your symptoms, health history, goals, and the markers that can give you a clearer picture of your long-term health.

At Tia, our Women’s Longevity Assessment starts with heart health and brings your full picture into the conversation, so you can better understand your health today and make informed decisions about the years ahead.

🧬 What if breast cancer risk could be traced through your genes?

Dr. Mary-Claire King’s research helped change how we understand hereditary breast cancer. In 1990, she and her colleagues identified a region on chromosome 17 linked to inherited breast cancer, laying the foundation for the discovery of BRCA1.

Her work helped establish that, for some people, family history and genetics can play an important role in breast and ovarian cancer risk.

Today, genetic counseling and testing can help people with certain family histories or risk factors better understand their inherited cancer risk and make more informed decisions about screening and prevention.

Dr. King’s work is a reminder that understanding your family history can be an important part of understanding your health.

Save this for your next conversation with your healthcare provider. 🩷

Your cycle can be one more tool to help you understand how your body feels during movement. 🏃‍♀️

Hormone shifts throughout the menstrual cycle can influence energy, symptoms, and how you feel during exercise. That doesn’t mean you need to follow a strict workout plan for every phase. Your body’s cues matter most.

Swipe for a quick guide to movement across the menstrual cycle, plus a reminder to listen to what your body needs that day. 💛

If your periods are unusually painful, irregular, or changing, talking with your provider can help you understand what’s going on.

Perimenopause symptoms can show up in more ways than you might expect. 💗

Changes in your period may be one sign, but shifts in sleep, mood, focus, memory, energy, sexual health, hot flashes, and night sweats can all be part of the picture.

And when those changes happen at different times, it isn’t always obvious that they could be connected.

This World Perimenopause Day, we’re reminding you that you deserve care that looks at the whole picture. At Tia, our Perimenopause & Menopause Assessment considers your symptoms, health history, and goals to help you better understand what’s changing and find care that fits you.

Because perimenopause care isn’t one-size-fits-all. 💕
