Summited another peak ☀️ This year-end escape into the mountains turned out to be the perfect place to pause and look back on the year. Grateful for the privilege to step away from everyday life, shut off the noise, and live in a slower, quieter world every now and then. The mountains have a way of reminding me how small things really are, how strong the body and mind can be when they’re cared for.

This year was a step-one into the actual treks & trails, the life of the mountains, and leveling up from road running. Cannot wait to run up & climb bigger, scarier mountains, and take up challenges that push me both physically and mentally. Fingers crossed, damn excited :D

This one was Dayara Bugyal, in Uttarakhand. Saw (& memorised the names of) some biiig peaks I want to summit someday :’) More about this trek in another post.

Thanks for always having my back @decathlonsportsindia ✨ by @asmitakamboj

Wanted to run @ladakhmarathon since 3 years and finally made it this time (alllmost, 99.9% had cancelled the plan this year too but @trailframess borderline blackmailed me into going to Ladakh). This was a difficult one - physically & mentally - the race, stepping away from home, socialising & meeting amaazing people when all I wanted to do was stay back with family, buuut things got taken care of and i’m glad i could take this week here. Damn happy to go back today lol but ngl imma little little miss Ladakh.

Watching the SRU & KC finishers cross the finish line was what I had seen in reels all these years but experiencing that first hand was bful. Many friends who ran the FM will now attempt the KC next year - damn, gonna be insane :D Not sure if I’ll be running the FM here next year or will attempt another HM and make it a stronger one, but either ways, hopefully I get to come here again in a much more stable situation.

There is soo much more to write about this one week but you’ll only feel the emotions if you experience Ladakh for yourself :’) Thaaanks to every single person who made this race what it was. Chalo, waiting for the official photos, see you in the next post! taken in Leh, Ladakh by @asmitakamboj

Sometimes you run a race just for the vibes, without worrying about your pace and end up having the best time on the route :) The ankles have not been great lately so we took it slow even on the downhills, but - @laketolakeultra I’m definitely coming back next year to set a good time! Insanely well managed race with best hydration points EVER! Proud of my city & my people ;)

And of course, @upandrun_in making sure I never experience what it feels like to get a cramp, ly bestie :)

2nd time running a 30k with goood elevation, and safe to say we’re slowly gaining some confidence :’) Feels sooo good to be running again! It’s magic :D by @asmitakamboj

Does this change anything? Are we celebrating the fall of one head of the hydra when another one has already taken its place? Maybe. Because this wasn’t about one person. It’s a statement that institutions can be questioned; that accountability can be demanded; that peaceful collective action still has the power to shift the conversation. We did something pretty damn cool :) Sowed the seeds of a better world. May this be the first step, not the last. Freakin insane stuff :’) by @asmitakamboj

@upandrun_in and I did something insane together. My first-ever trail run, a brutal 30 km, 9 hours, and 2,000m elevation gain on the Goechala trail in the Kanchenjunga National Park, Sikkim.

Rolling hills for the first ~12km, a verrry steep incline after that & then a u-turn at 15km. I lost count of the number of times I cried on the trail and almost gave up. But my two dear friends - UP&RUN and Priyanshu - kept me going, pushing me past my limits. My (very very special) first trail-run buckle after a handful of road-race medals on the wall :’)

Around the 28km mark (2-3km from the finish line), I thought I wouldn’t make it under the cutoff time and would have to go home with a DNF (Did Not Finish). But sommmehow, I told my brain to shut up and sprinted, making it barely 5 minutes before the cutoff. Even though I was pushing myself to the absolute limit - mentally and physically - my muscles didn’t give up. I stayed incredibly well-hydrated, never got a single cramp, and recovered so fast - all because I rested well, ate well and never left the side of my electrolytes, making sure to keep my salt & minerals in check.

Bro the photos don’t do justice to the challenging terrain, the muddy slippery downhills and the mad uphills. I recorded my rants, my happy moments and the times I broke down on the trail. Sharing a video of all that combined, soooon (can’t waittt). Looking back at it now, I’d say I’m a little proud of myself?? During the briefing, we were told it is one of the most difficult trails in India, but it turned out to be wayy harder than I had imagined.

I wouldn’t have been able to do it without my support system. You simply cannot finish a run like this injury-free, cramp-free and recover well without proper nutrition & clean hydration. Love you UP&RUN, thanks for having my back, bestie. Imma go conquer more grueling peaks and wild adventures confidently now, because I know you’ve got me ;) See you again, soon! by @asmitakamboj

100+ kilometres, 50+ hours, solo, Annapurna Base Camp & Poon Hill. 8 days on the trail with 6,700 meters of elevation gain. Probably the hardest thing I’ve done till date, my first 4,000 meter peak :’)

Ticked off a bucket list item, but it ended up being waayy more than that. I’m still sitting in my trekking pants that I’ve been wearing for days - was sitting at this exact spot a few days ago (in clean pants though) nervous about doing this alone. A little proud of myself, I’d say? Stepping out of the country for the first time, walking through dense forests by myself and climbing up endless stairs, there were moments that almost broke me down but I somehow gathered the strength back up.

Recorded a bunch of clips through the days, can’t wait to get back home and stitch them together. More pictures & ‘content’ soon, soaking in the feeling rn :’ taken in Annapurna Base Camp by @asmitakamboj
