Since I was 15, when I just knew in my spirit that you would be my husband one day, and from the moment you asked me to be your girlfriend, I never stopped writing “Thuda N Treety” or “Mrs. Wilcox” on every little piece of paper I could find. 🤣🤣 Somehow even as a kid, when I told you that you had to come to church with me for my parents to be cool with you and you came, that was confirmation, lol. Mama and Daddy said you were my “friend,” but everyone else knew the b-o-y was in front, lol. I grew up understanding the power of my words, but I never imagined how beautifully they would manifest from childhood into adulthood. Each of these photos capture moments in our lives when, even as life happened, we held on to each other with true love, genuine support, and the quiet certainty that, with God’s grace, we could overcome anything! 🙏🏽

To this day, even while navigating what the world deems as 1 of the 2 most unbearable pains life can bring, I look to you as my source of strength and as that “something to look forward to” every single day! I still miss you when we are apart, and I still feel that same excitement to see you every time we go places without one another!!! Our marriage is not perfect, but we move through every intense fellowship with love and respect. Thank you for being everything earthly to me, to our children, and to our grandchildren. I feel so blessed that we have grown from high school sweethearts, to parents, and now grandparents!

As best friends, we often reflect on the overflow of abundance we have shared. We are truly rich in spirit. We have created memories all over the world, and we genuinely have fun together. Each phase of our lives has been a blessing, and as time goes on, I love you deeper and hold even more adoration for where you came from and who you have become. So grateful to embark upon 8 years of our marriage being as amazing as our wedding day!! Father God, keep my heart pure + empowered as I walk in my purpose, pouring love and dedication into this HEARTwork with @_mamainc as I continue to inspire teen and young moms striving to make a profound impact to them and their children!

Statistics have shown that nationally, between 50-70% of teen moms leave school, however, these ladies have DEFIED THE ODDS!

MAMA Inc. partnered with @photosbytitus @theashleesmall to host the 2nd annual S.I.M.O.O Clicks 4 Grad Pics initiative which provides teen mom high school seniors with professional makeup and professional cap and gown photos with their baby! 🎓💕📸

It is more than a photo capture, the initiative is a powerful reminder that hard work and perseverance create lasting success. As these young mothers step into the next chapter of their journey which includes in college, employment, and the Army; when facing life’s challenges, I pray that their graduation photo serves as a source of encouragement to keep going! I hope that it will renew their motivation remembering that “I made it to the finish line in high school, surely I can keep going despite the challenge because SUCCESS IS MY ONLY OPTION!”

I am beyond proud of my girls as I have witnessed their growth, resilience, and achievements! It deeply fills my heart with endless gratitude!

Honored, grateful, and boldly striking forward! 🐍 💚🧡 Being selected as a Class of 2026 FAMU 40 Under 40 Honoree stretches beyond the accolade itself. For me, it is a testament to purpose, resilience, and the village that carried me! Sitting in reflection, tears stream my face in gratitude and amazement.

Since 2022, my life shifted in ways that stretched me beyond what I imagined. It was a season marked by pain, pruning, and profound transformation. Yet like a rattlesnake moving through opposition; steady, intentional, never losing its rhythm, I kept striking. Boldly. Purposefully. I have learned that even in the darkest seasons, purpose is the one thing adversity cannot kill.🙏🏽

FAMU sealed my college experience because it allowed me to witness the true essence of family, not just among my peers but my professors too. As I raised my son while earning my undergraduate and graduate degrees, I was surrounded by a village of peers, classmates who supported me with love, encouragement, and unwavering belief. And beyond the classroom, my professors at FAMU became part of that village, guiding me academically and showing up for me and my son outside of campus!! 🥹

College of Love and Charity was more than a line in our alma mater, it was literally the heartbeat of my experience. I felt it in every moment where my professors extended grace, guidance, and support. That kind of community shapes you forever! 🫶🏽🥹

I also honor my sister, Applemania (@ibonitamanzanas CEO of @teacherbaeinc , who ran so that I could walk as a student at FAMU! She came before me, she carried the torch, and she made space for me to rise on the Highest of Seven Hills! This moment is ours, App! This is a shared legacy, a shared victory, and another shared memory that will have to forever cherish! Thank you and your nomination crew for nominating me! 🫶🏽

Happy Birthday to my BFF! @mr_lawson_87 , the brutally honest, yet loving friendship that we have is one of the most cherished things in my life! From free therapy sessions, to trips all over the world, godparents to each others kids, so many laughs, a few tears (all me though) and JLaw Jr. stories that are forever etched in my heart and mind as if I was physically there to tell them myself! BF you are a phenomenal husband, an AMAZING dad, the best son, brother and the type of friend that many people pray for! May the last year of your thirties be filled with an abundance of everything that you desire and deserve! I love you endlessly! Thank you (and E) for never making me feel as if the season of hardship that I’ve faced with grief since 2022, was mine to bear alone! Kids, sometimes your parents feel too strict, too serious, too protective, or like they’re doing the absolute most. But a parent’s calling is simple and sacred: to prepare you for life and to protect you from what you cannot yet see. I used to tell my son, “Life is the motion picture you can’t pause or rewind. You only see the credits when the story is finished.”

That’s the reminder that life is happening now. Every decision is a scene. Every moment is part of your legacy. You don’t get to go back..Forever changed. Free you until you’re free. Some connections are heaven sent. In 2017 this @theshaderoom post introduced me to a young mom whose strength, grace, and determination reminded me so much of my own journey! I searched for her and the internet connected us! I celebrated her and although she was in California and Im in Florida, when we finally connected it felt like God aligned it on purpose! We kept@in contact for@over 5 years and then I invited her to be a featured speaker at @_mamainc’s 2023 Sweetheart Seminar.

Dayja has overcome every obstacle with courage. She became a mom young, she rose without the support of her parents, she joined the military, she earned her degrees, and she built a beautiful life for her baby girl. Her resilience continues to inspire every room she walks into.

Today I celebrate her life, her growth, her heart, and the sisterhood that grew from a viral moment. 🙏🏽💕🥳Happy birthday @d.dayja . My entire family loves you so much and I am so proud of the woman you are becoming! 💕Keep choosing success as your only option and BLOOM through it all!! 🌸
