v1 prototyping of the BARRIER BUDDY is underway and feeling great! this idea is finally seeing the light of day after more than a year and now i get to dial it in and share the stoke. it came from a season of my life that had a very compact schedule and i couldn’t always find time to get to the skatepark but wanted to scratch the itch, even if only for 10 minutes at a time.

now that it’s in the wild, it’s time to dial in the radius, engineering and different ways i can share this with as many people as possible. with multiple segments, it’ll be a dream to be able to bolt together and setup an 8’ quarter in a matter of minutes, wherever your barrier of choice resides.

no matter how busy you are, find small ways to spark the fire and keep the adventure alive, it’s worth it.

spring is here and winter relief is ahead

my name is Joel Barnett and i am the founder/creative director of @asolasinitiative, a bmx rooted initiative. SOLAS has been a dream of mine for a few years and it’s finally beginning to bloom. this passion project is my love letter to bmx and the incredible life it has given me. it is very fortunately inspired by the wild and meaningful humans it introduced me to in these 30yrs of riding a bike; it is my thank you to them and my contribution to bmx.

in the near future, you may expect some printed material, soft goods and community efforts, so tune in for all our connections.

spring is here

Logan Collins | Nashville, TN

Tucked away in plain sight, these trails lived in the heart of East Nashville and carried a special charm. Built along a drainage ditch, the space it lacked was made up for by its uniqueness. Getting to build and ride these trails with Logan was a pleasure and during that time we shot some fun photos.
