POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED

Assemble and Level Up Studios have teamed up to make it easier than ever to get moving, get creative, and become part of Pittsburgh’s vibrant arts community.

For over 10 years, Level Up Studios @leveluppgh has been Pittsburgh’s home for hip hop and street dance, offering classes for both kids and adults in a welcoming, supportive environment where every experience level is encouraged to grow.

As a member of the Assemble community, you’ll receive 50% off your first month of any Level Up Studios membership.
Even better, your membership does more than support your own growth.

100% of your first month’s membership will be donated directly back to Assemble, helping them continue providing the incredible creative programming that strengthens our community every day.

We are so grateful to our friends and neighbors at Level Up! Big shout-out to @themindofquinn, the man behind it all! by @assemblepgh

Assemble partners with PaintNoStress to present "Visible Yet Unseen: Black Love, Disability, and Community Transformation," this Friday at the Penn Ave First Friday Art Crawl!

Visible Yet Unseen: Black Love, Disability, and Community Transformation is a collection of six different artists rooted in the belief that disability and neurodivergence must be discussed and advocated for more openly within Black and Brown communities. Too often, we are expected to remain endlessly strong, productive, and resilient, even when our minds or bodies are telling us that we cannot continue in the same way. Many people want to work, contribute, and be recognized for their abilities, yet still encounter environments unwilling to understand their needs or see their full worth.

Through art, Visible Yet Unseen makes room for people living with visible and invisible disabilities, chronic conditions, mental health experiences, neurodivergence, and other access-related experiences. It also honors the loved ones, advocates, educators, employers, caregivers, and community members willing to listen, learn, and help create change.

This exhibition is not the conclusion of the conversation. It is the beginning of what can grow beyond the gallery and enter workplaces, schools, homes, friendships, families, and community spaces. Our hope is that people will leave feeling seen, less alone, and more prepared to imagine communities in which difference is understood, support is accessible, and every person’s worth is recognized.

Meet the artists, make a craft, share in food and drink! We hope to see you there! by @assemblepgh

I’d like to thank the Academy for my Unicorn Award from @assemblepgh in the category of Afrofuturist Activator. 🦄

Congratulations Assemble on your 15th Anniversary and thank you @ninabarbuto for your vision.

I am honored to continue the work of the PA CROWN Act so that young people - especially Black children - across this Commonwealth can see themselves in the future with no limits. 👑

Our children deserve to create, make, imagine, build and dream. 💭

🦄✨ UNICORNY AWARD: State Rep. La'Tasha D. Mayes ✨🦄

Tonight at Unicorn Palooza, we're honoring State Representative La'Tasha D. Mayes with a Unicorny Award for being our Afrofuturist Activator.

La'Tasha founded New Voices for Reproductive Justice in 2004 and spent 18 years growing it into an organization serving 250,000+ people across PA and Ohio. In 2023, she made history as the first out lesbian woman ever elected to the PA General Assembly and the first woman to represent the 24th District in over 50 years. Since then, she's secured $65M+ in state funding for her community, co-led the fight for Pennsylvania's first-ever MOMNIBUS maternal health legislation, and was the prime sponsor of the PA CROWN Act.

@repmayes embodies what Assemble believes: that bold ideas and hands-on work can transform communities. 🧡

Thank you, Representative Mayes; this one's for you. 🏆
