VENUS RX BLOG IN BIO 🌹💖 Venus has been reduced to love + beauty for so long that we sometimes forget how fu*king profound her archetype actually is.
.
Even her glyph ♀ has been interpreted esoterically as spirit over matter… the invisible becoming tangible. Desire taking form.
.
Venus speaks to what we value + therefore what we’re drawn toward… What we attract, exchange, create + allow ourselves to receive.
.
Love, yes. But also money, art, beauty, seggsuality, pleasure, resources + relationship.
.
And beneath all of it: value. Including the value we assign to ourselves.
.
Which is why I’ve been thinking about manifestation differently lately.
.
Because we can desire something deeply. Call it in. Even recognize it when it appears…
.
…and still discover that some part of us isn’t actually available to meet it.
.
Sometimes receiving what we desire asks for more vulnerability than we expected. More honesty. More courage. More risk. Different boundaries + choices. A willingness to leave behind what is familiar.
.
And I’ve been witnessing this… in myself + in the mirrors around me… in ways that feel almost comically on-theme for this Venus retrograde.
.
Because sometimes another person can show us exactly where they aren’t available for what they say they desire.
.
And if we’re willing to turn the mirror back toward ourselves, we might discover where we’re doing the same.
.
This is where Venus retrograde gets interesting.
.
Venus stations retrograde in Scorpio on Oct 3, asking us to look beneath the surface of desire, intimacy, seggsuality, vulnerability + power; before returning to Libra, where so much becomes visible through the mirror of relationship.
.
The question isn’t only:
What do I want?
But: What do I believe I’m worthy of receiving?
.
Where am I still choosing from an old story about what I deserve?
.

While many people know Astrobloom through astrology, embodiment + healing work, creativity + craftsmanship is where this journey began.

There’s a difference between being free + being untethered… that’s what working with Venus energy in astrology + astrocartography taught me.
.
For years, I felt weighed down by the roots I’d grown. The routines, familiarity + expectations of a life I’d spent so long building.
.
Then I experienced the other side. The freedom to wander, explore + reinvent myself… + the destabilization that comes from having nowhere to land.
.
Somewhere along the way, I realized I don’t want one at the expense of the other.
.
I want grounded freedom. Deep intimacy AND independence. Community AND adventure. Roots that nourish my wildness rather than contain it.
.
The timing of this realization feels especially meaningful. 🌹
.
As Venus retrogrades through Scorpio, the sign of my natal Venus in the 11th house of friendship + community, I’m literally travelling closer to my Venus–IC line in astrocartography.
.
Venus represents our values, desires + relationships, while the IC speaks to our roots, home + belonging.
.
Here I am, reconsidering what it means to feel at home.
.
Venus retrograde has accompanied so many thresholds in my life. Commitment, marriage, endings + new beginnings. Each chapter revealing another layer of what I truly value.
.
I think she’s why BC has felt so much like coming home. Not just because of the land, but because of the people I’ve encountered who share this longing for connection + expansiveness. People who want to belong without sacrificing their freedom to explore + live unconventionally.
.
It brings me back to my childhood… my aunt used to joke that she’d adopted me from the “gypsies” because I was dark-haired, tanned + wild. Growing up with Eastern European roots, that wasn’t exactly a compliment - but an observation of my ‘different’ nature.

Lately, I’ve been reclaiming the outsider, the wanderer… The one who never quite fit the mould.
.
I’m realizing that the deepest freedom isn’t having nothing to hold onto, but finding people + places where we can belong without abandoning ourselves.

What if your worth was never tied to how much you do, give or achieve? 🌑
.
I’ve been reflecting on this a LOT lately… I’m wrapping up an artist + wellness residency on beautiful Savary island, where I imagined having all this spaciousness to create, soak up the last days of my season here + make art.
.
And yet, I’ve found myself struggling with how little I’ve accomplished. As though the value of this experience depends on what I have to show for it.
.
I’ve also recently been confronted with some interesting relational mirrors… particularly around giving, receiving + the discomfort that arises when I witness someone simplytaking things I would never dream of asking for myself.
.
It’s made me wonder: how much of my identity have I built around being the responsible one? The accommodating one? The one who doesn’t ask for too much?
.
With today’s Libra New Moon ruled by Venus retrograde in Scorpio, we’re being invited to explore the shadows of our relational patterns + the stories we’ve inherited about our own worth.
.
With Saturn opposing this lunation, perhaps we’re also being asked to reconsider our relationship with work, responsibility + the belief that everything meaningful must be difficult.
.
So maybe the work isn’t to become more productive… it may just be learning how to simply BE.
.

Here I am, surrounded by so much beauty, in a place that has inspired so much of my creativity. With the space to write, move, explore, make art + bring so many of the things I’ve been dreaming of into form.
.
And yet, I’ve been meeting so much resistance…

Feeling unmotivated + overwhelmed by all the things I could be doing. Grappling with the feeling that time is slipping away, that I’m somehow missing the opportunity to make the most of this experience.
.
So I’ve been reflecting… even when we consciously create spaciousness, how much expectation do we attach to what should emerge from it?
.
How deeply is our worth still entangled with our productivity, creativity, beauty, or ability to turn every experience into something meaningful?
.
As we approach the Libra New Moon, with its ruler, Venus retrograde in Scorpio, these questions feel especially relevant.
.
Venus is inviting us to examine where we’ve outsourced our worth. To descend beneath the identities we’ve built around being desirable, accomplished, creative, or worthy of love.
.
Honouring our cyclical nature also means honouring the seasons that don’t feel beautiful… When things don’t seems to be blooming, inspiration isn’t flowing, and all we can seem to do is exist.
.
Nature doesn’t bloom year-round. Death, decay, and decomposition are as essential to the creative cycle as birth and blossoming.
.
So maybe, I don’t need to turn this experience into art. Maybe I don’t need to capture the beauty, find the lesson, or make every moment count.

Maybe the point is simply to be here. To exist ... To remember that my worth is not contingent on what I create, accomplish, offer, or become.
.
Because decomposition is creation, too. 🥀

I recently spent day 1 of my 🩸, naked on the beach with one of my dearest friends, feeling held by everything including my @free.bleed
.
Savary October gifted us one of those impossibly warm days. Sun bathing, dreaming up witchy things, talking life + business, foraging + taking in the beauty around
.
I kept thinking about how precious our energy is when we menstruate…
.
Our bodies are already doing the work of shedding. I experience those first few days as a time when I’m more sensitive to where my life force goes, what I give it to + who I share it with.
.
I’ve learned that when I override that… when I push, overextend, or spend energy I don’t really have … my body usually lets me know… loudly … but not until the next cycle usually 😅
.
So I’m learning to be more discerning…
.
To rest. To be outside. To nourish myself. To move slowly. To be around people I don’t have to perform for.
.
People I can soften around.
.
Because conserving your energy doesn’t always mean being alone.

Sometimes it means lying naked in the October sun beside your best friend, on the softest, warmest waterproof cocoon @free.bleed blanket… completely at ease in your body + letting yourself 🩸 .

What happens when the thing you desire becomes evidence of your worth?
.
When being chosen becomes proof that you’re worthy of choosing… Being seen becomes proof that you matter.
.
The desire itself isn’t the problem. But our desires can become powerful mirrors for the places where we’ve unknowingly outsourced our power.
.
And Venus stationing retrograde in Scorpio on October 3rd is asking us to look beneath the surface of what we want… and get really honest about what we believe having it would mean about us.
.
Especially as Venus stations at the apex of a tense T-square with Mars + Pluto, bringing themes of desire, power, control, worth + the external gaze right to the surface.

Sometimes the thing we desire isn’t the destination.
.
It’s the direction. 🪓🌹
.
Venus retrograde asks us to get really fu*king honest about what we want.
.
Not what seems realistic, what we’ve convinced ourselves we should want, or what makes us ‘desirable.’
.
What do you actually desire? Because desire is a mirror.
.
The moment we admit I want this… this kind of love, this amount of money, this creative life, this freedom, this depth… we also meet the beliefs we hold about whether we’re worthy of receiving it.
.
And those beliefs shape how available we actually are to what we say we want.
.
We can desire intimacy + consistently choose people who can’t meet us.
.
Desire abundance + feel guilty asking to be paid.
.
Desire visibility + hide the parts of ourselves we’re afraid won’t be accepted.
.
And sometimes we project an entire world onto the object of our desire… a person, a place, a career, a future… believing this is the thing that will finally give us the feeling we’re longing for.
.
But what if the desire is pointing beyond the object?
.
What if it’s showing you something about the life you’re being asked to build?
.
The invitation isn’t to stop wanting the thing… it’s to follow the desire back to yourself… and notice what it reveals about your worth, your values + your capacity to receive.

This Aries–Libra story has always been incredibly personal for me.
.
For years, I confused maintaining love with compromising myself. I married someone I deeply loved while knowing there were parts of myself + the life I wanted that weren’t being fully met. Eventually, I had to choose myself.
.
And after ending my marriage, freedom became sacred. I had spent so long compromising myself for partnership that I swung toward the opposite end of the spectrum: freedom, fun, autonomy. I wanted to belong only entirely to myself.
.
But we can never truly exist without relating.. so since then, almost every connection I’ve experienced has mirrored something back to me about this polarity.
.
Continuously drawn to the kind of chemistry my Scorpio Venus craves; magnetism, depth, the feeling of being seen… over + over again - I had to confront that chemistry alone couldn’t meet the things I truly needed.
.
I had to become honest with myself about the care I require when I give someone intimate access to my body + inner world … + to notice where chemistry or possibility was carrying me further than my deeper knowing wanted to go.
.
That’s part of what I’m witnessing under this Full Moon. Not grieving my capacity to care deeply. Or my desire for intimacy. But witnessing the version of me who believed she had to abandon what she knew to keep connection alive + the one who thought the only alternative was not needing anyone at all.
.
Because choosing yourself doesn’t have to mean choosing solitude. Maybe Aries magic is learning to belong to ourselves deeply enough that we can meet another without disappearing inside of them… The independent part. The part that wants to be held. Wholeness means there is room for all of it.

What if the practice is letting yourself want something deeply… without making its arrival or absence evidence of your worth?
.
Because naming what we desire makes us vulnerable.
.
The moment we say this is what I want… in love, money, creativity, pleasure, work, belonging… we open ourselves to the possibility that it may not arrive. Or at least, not yet.
.
We’re meaning-making creatures, so the space between desire + receiving can quickly fill with stories:
.
Maybe I’m asking for too much, or it’s not available to me… maybe I don’t deserve it, or maybe if I were more beautiful / successful / healed / lovable / _____, I would already have it.
.
This is where the real Venus work begins… NOT in shrinking the desire so we don’t have to risk disappointment. But in noticing what the desire reveals.
.
What happens in your body when you admit what you really want?
.
What stories surface when reality hasn’t reflected it back to you yet?
.
What would it mean to let the desire remain true without turning your current circumstances into a verdict on your value?
.
Because Venus isn’t only about love + relationships.

Venus speaks to value + values. Money. Pleasure. Beauty. Creativity. Desire. Receptivity… and beneath all of it lives our relationship with our own WORTH.
