Today marks a somber day for the grappling community as we mourn the passing of Jack Mountford, a true pioneer of UK grappling and jiu-jitsu at the age of 84. Despite his humble nature, his influence was profound. Trained in judo under the guidance of godfathers Kozumi and Hosaka, he held a remarkable 7th Dan in Japanese jiu-jitsu, which lays the foundation for what many practitioners do today.

Jack's expertise extended beyond boundaries; he was a notable freestyle and catch wrestler recognized for his unconventional fighting style. His collaboration with Billy Robinson in preparing for training in Japan showcased his expertise, often challenging false claims, even putting hosts to sleep during disagreements at seminars.

He was ahead of his time, being among the first to amalgamate various disciplines into a singular style. Hosting an open mat at Bolton wrestling club in the '80s and '90s, Jack fostered an environment where individuals from across the north of England tested their styles under no rules or time limits. In 1996, he co-founded ASW, one of the country's initial grappling and MMA clubs, fostering a team that dominated UK events from its inception.

As a coach, Jack demanded excellence and didn't hesitate to correct mistakes with a firm hand. His teaching wasn't just about technique; he imparted invaluable life skills and patience, which have been instrumental for many, including myself, in competitions and in life.

Jack Mountford was both feared and respected, leaving an indelible mark on all who crossed paths with him. His absence will be deeply felt. Rest in peace, Jack. Your legacy will endure. ❤️

Good luck to Emile Vujakovic & Josh Carrick in their Cage Warrior’s debut tomorrow night🫡

The pair have 14 combined FCC wins, with 11 coming via finish. We expect the heavy-hitting @aswbjj duo to perform as usual! All the best from the FCC team.📈

NEW OPPONENT...𝗖𝗛𝗔𝗢𝗦 𝗜𝗡𝗖𝗢𝗠𝗜𝗡𝗚 🤯🔥

Emile Vujakovic 🆚 Jefferson Moreira

Emile Vujakovic enters FCC 45 as one of the most dangerous middleweights in the UK. Sporting a 6–1 record with a 100% finish rate and five first-round stoppages, he’s currently ranked UK #9 and has made a habit of ending fights early.

Standing across from him is Jefferson Moreira, a serious threat in his own right. Holding a 7–2 record with a 100% finish rate, Moreira has never needed the judges and brings pure kill-or-be-killed energy into this middleweight clash.

This one isn’t going the distance. Chaos is guaranteed.

💥 𝗛𝗘𝗔𝗩𝗬𝗪𝗘𝗜𝗚𝗛𝗧 𝗩𝗜𝗢𝗟𝗘𝗡𝗖𝗘

Josh Carrick 🆚️ Brian Draper

Josh Carrick doesn’t get paid by the hour. Two fights. Two first-round knockouts. A heavyweight who wastes no time and looks to end things the moment the bell rings.

Across from him stands Brian Draper. Making his professional debut, the Irish heavyweight steps straight into the fire against one of the division’s most explosive finishers. No warm-up fights. Just raw power and a chance to make an instant statement on the FCC stage.
