🌿 Wabi-Sabi Lab – Portrait d’acteur

Giulia Ferraris - A. Vetra : textiles enracinés, textures vivantes ✨

Giulia Ferraris crée des pièces textiles qui portent en elles la terre, la main et le temps. En collaboration étroite avec des artisans du nord‑est de l’Italie, elle imagine, sous la marque A. Vetra, de petites séries d’objets et de vêtements. La sensibilité contemporaine s’entrelace avec un héritage textile vivant. 🌾

Chaque pièce porte une mémoire : celle d’une matière naturelle, d’un geste patient, d’une éthique attentive.
Les textiles d’A. Vetra vibrent de nuances, d’irrégularités, de cette imperfection qui révèle la présence humaine.
Un design haut de gamme, mais humble, enraciné, profondément wabi‑sabi. 🍂

Après six années passées à l’étranger, Giulia Ferraris revient à ses racines et fonde A. Vetra en 2020.
Designer holistique, elle défend une création lente, consciente, bienveillante — une renaissance du patrimoine textile portée par une narration empathique et sensible. ✨

I recently had the joy of guiding my very first workshop with @artisans.of.now by the side of @cantieri_creativi  It still feels tender and almost unbelievable to write that. Stepping into the role of guiding others - while knowing how vast and infinite the world of natural dyes truly is - was humbling, challenging, and deeply transformative. Beyond sharing knowledge, it truly felt like sharing a part of myself. It has been a gift: of growth, of connection.
I’m so grateful to Ludovica and Simone, who trusted me with this opportunity and shared it with me 🤍

And thank you @bottegamira for these lovely shots, all the participants for their curiosity and enthusiasm, and the team behind the scene that supported us by @ateliervetra

Sacraflora is a limited edition collection created especially for @_xtant_, using upcycled plant-based fibers to complement my permanent collection in native wool.

It was a special experiment, a project I approached with the desire to explore new directions. I welcomed the joyful challenge of developing new garment shapes and applying my natural dye research to a different material landscape.

While my main focus remains on deepening and elevating my work with native wool - the core of my practice - a few Sacraflora pieces are still available and will soon be uploaded to my online shop.

When I envisioned the woman wearing the Sacraflora garments, I imagined a being who belongs to the wild - someone who feels at home with the soil beneath her feet and the forest as her shelter.
Rough textures, earthy tones, and large pockets ready to hold any treasures found along the path to the open field.
Like animals do, she first pauses to sense her surroundings - alert, grounded, present - and only then does she move freely, instinctively, into her own direction.

In the pictures: Apron, trousers, and skirt - all infused with larch bark.
