It’s a wrap! We’re back from our Creative Residency in Italy 🧡 with a full heart and 5 days of dreaming up a more regenerative work/life ~ new possibilities ~ new chapters ~ making friends ~ eating amazing, nourishing Italian food ~ workshopping creative living ~ learning natural dyes ~ visiting artist studios ~ group support ~ listening ~ and working on new projects.

Maestro Artigiano d’Eccellenza 2026 – Arte Tessile

È un grande onore ricevere da LVMH questo riconoscimento.

Un premio che arriva dopo 131 anni di storia, quattro generazioni e un percorso che ha visto la nostra azienda trasformarsi più volte, senza perdere il legame con le proprie radici.

Quando ho deciso di riportare in vita i nostri vecchi telai a mano, non volevo semplicemente conservarli come testimonianza del passato. Volevo riportare uno strumento antico nel presente, capire cosa fosse ancora possibile fare con una tecnologia nata oltre un secolo fa e utilizzarla per creare e sperimentare prodotti contemporanei.

Per me questa è la vera sfida: non musealizzare il passato, ma renderlo attuale e capace di generare futuro.

E il futuro dell’artigianato non può essere costruito da soli.

In questi anni ho cercato di creare sinergie positive con giovani professionisti, colleghi tessitori, designer e aziende che condividono la stessa voglia di sperimentare e contaminarsi.

Penso alle collaborazioni con Federico Ongaro di OngaroLab, Giulia Ferraris di Ateliervetra e Francesco Vantin di Gimmi Jeans, ma anche alle tante persone con cui abbiamo condiviso progetti, prove, errori e nuove idee.

Per questo sento questo premio non solo come un riconoscimento personale, ma anche come un riconoscimento a tutte le persone che hanno contribuito a questo percorso.

Grazie a mio fratello Mario, LVMH, Confartigianato Imprese, Camera Nazionale della Moda Italiana e Fondazione Bvlgari, alla giuria e a tutti coloro che hanno creduto nel nostro lavoro.

Il nostro passato è il nostro futuro.

E il futuro, per me, passa dalle sinergie positive.

Picture this…

🌞Mornings: breakfast with fresh seasonal fruit, to gather and start the day together and optional movement practice (walking along the fields, stretching, maybe yoga)

📝 Daily quest & reflection in small groups to talk about big questions you have on your mind about what’s next for you, or set an intention for something you might want to dedicate time to (a creative project, book, writing, learning knittinf or embroidery… you name it!)

🌼 2 days with our artist in residence to learn the natural dyeing practice and process, where we’ll spend a few hours foraging, learning dyeing techniques and dye clothing items

🏺 During the other days there will be one type of programming per day — a creative living manifesto creating session, a visit to a local artist studio

🫜 A light fresh lunch with locally sources ingredients under the olive trees, maybe combined with a little siesta

🐚 And apart from that, plenty of time to do your thing, enjoy the pool, wander, journal, work on your creative project..

🍝 Evenings will be spent on long table dinners, freshly prepared by our chef @chef_francesca with conversations, and just enjoying the time together

Leaving @_xtant_ behind is never easy

It truly feels like a family connected through thread, craft, love, and humanity, something I carry with me all year long until we meet again

Every year becomes more meaningful and emotional for me. I’m endlessly grateful for every conversation, every smile, and every person who stopped to see, touch, wear, and connect with my clothes. To the people I met for the first time, and to those I was so happy to reunite with again, thank you

A huge thank you to all the beautiful souls around me this year, especially my neighbors @muuyeejournal and @fluff_knitwearco for all the laughters

My heart is wide open and firmly rooted coming out of @_xtant_ leadership program & marketplace. As an artist, I was immersed in what it means to embed the values of craft into all aspects of my practice: connection with place, making by hand, valuing beauty, authenticity…
And as a human, I was invited into a community of makers from around the world who showed up everyday with trust and openness to a conversation about how we navigate this world as ethical creatives. Our knowledge sharing became activism and the ripples are resonating outward into our larger communities, this is medicine indeed!
Infinite Gratitude to @kavitaparmar big hearted visionary and a guiding star helping us find our way together to the magic of here and now. And to all the tricksters and helping hands that volunteered to transform @palaucanvivot into a fairytale marketplace.

I went to XTANT with no expectations.

Having 7 pieces making up my first ever collection.
And the quiet hope that the right people would feel what I feel when I work with this fiber.

They did.

89 makers. 37 countries.
An ancient palace in Mallorca.
And something I did not plan for — belonging.

What touches you matters.
Not just what you put on your skin.
But the hands it passed through. The intention behind it. The room it first entered the world in.

XTANT was that room for ílát.

I feel so happy and proud to be part of this year's @_xtant_ Mallorca with the amazing team of @lov.foundation! Thank you all for the beautiful days in the ancient palace of Can Vivot, sharing ideas, talks and workshops with 89 artists from 37 countries! Thank you all!!! 💫🌸🤍

My works are inspired from my decision to relocate from an urban setting to a rural environment. This move represents the culmination of a deep desire for immersion within a space where traces of primordial myths , the interconnectedness of all life forms and hidden sanctity coexists and the act of creating evolves into a mindful practice of meditation.

🌼🌀🍊🏺🧶 CREATIVE RESIDENCY

Picture yourself on a slow morning in Italy, waking up with the songs of the birds, starting the day with a short stroll next to the olive trees, before coming together for a communal breakfast prepared by our chef in residence @chef_francesca, with the sun shining through the windows. You’ll start dreaming about how to live differently, with a quest about how to reimagine your work & life. In the afternoon, we’ll be joined by Giulia from @ateliervetra, immersing us into the art of natural dyeing. From a walk in nature, to leading the theory behind it, to experimenting with different techniques, coloring out our pieces.
After some downtime, reading, chilling at the pool, we’ll gather, sharing a long table dinner with new friends 🫂🍊🍝

Giulia Ferraris - A. Vetra : textiles enracinés, textures vivantes ✨

Giulia Ferraris crée des pièces textiles qui portent en elles la terre, la main et le temps. En collaboration étroite avec des artisans du nord‑est de l’Italie, elle imagine, sous la marque A. Vetra, de petites séries d’objets et de vêtements. La sensibilité contemporaine s’entrelace avec un héritage textile vivant. 🌾

Chaque pièce porte une mémoire : celle d’une matière naturelle, d’un geste patient, d’une éthique attentive.
Les textiles d’A. Vetra vibrent de nuances, d’irrégularités, de cette imperfection qui révèle la présence humaine.
Un design haut de gamme, mais humble, enraciné, profondément wabi‑sabi. 🍂

Après six années passées à l’étranger, Giulia Ferraris revient à ses racines et fonde A. Vetra en 2020.
Designer holistique, elle défend une création lente, consciente, bienveillante — une renaissance du patrimoine textile portée par une narration empathique et sensible. ✨
