Founders Jake Raslan and Lorenzo Buscaroli present one of their latest projects: Rebase, a recently unveiled wellness destination in Marylebone by Atelier Wren.

Conceived as a sanctuary for restoration, Rebase combines architectural precision with advanced therapies. Ice baths, traditional saunas, contrast therapy, breathwork, and cryotherapy are seamlessly integrated, creating a space where design and wellbeing meet in perfect balance.

For the latest instalment of Room by Room, we spoke to Jake Raslan and Lorenzo Buscaroli (@atelierwren) the designers behind Berenjak Mayfair (@berenjaklondon), about bringing a slice of Iran to central London. A year in the making, the restaurant is a study in detail: a hand-painted ceiling inspired by historic Persian miniatures, bespoke marble mosaic floors, and a kitchen that spills into the dining room so you can watch the bread being baked. We asked them about the most expensive details, why handmade craftsmanship earns its keep, and whether they have any regrets.

@atelierwren has unveiled their recently completed project, Hoppers Shoreditch, a new restaurant designed to immerse guests in the architectural traditions, craftsmanship, and cultural stories of Sri Lanka and South India. The project is the studio’s most expressive collaboration with the @hopperslondon brand to date, drawing from the region’s historic residences, artisanal practices, and layered visual language. Thank you @broadsheet.london 🙏

“The restaurant accommodates 55 and has a fit-out by London design studio Atelier Wren (Caia, Silva) that completely reimagines the space into something more transportive than its previous sun-soaked, light-timbered incarnation as Lyle’s. Shutters filter the daylight, creating a brooding space evocative of old Chettiar family homes. The craft traditions of India’s Tamil Nadu state are referenced throughout, bringing together patterned tiles and carved timber details, including a jaw-dropping ceiling, tabletops sourced from India and decorative masks that arrived moments before the restaurant hosted its first trial services.” 🙏

HOPPERS SHOREDITCH, COMING SOON

In early 2026, we open the doors to Hoppers Shoreditch, our fourth London restaurant, set in the iconic Tea Building and marking 10 years since the original Hoppers in Soho.

This new chapter takes us beyond Sri Lanka to explore the lesser-seen regions of South India that have long inspired our cooking. Expect the fiery curries of Chettinad, the street eats of Madurai, the dosas of Bangalore, the seafood of Kochi, and the aromatic biryanis of Chennai, alongside your favourite Hoppers classics.

The space reimagines South Indian palaces and ancestral homes through a modern Shoreditch lens, blending tropical warmth, carved timber, and hand-finished details with our signature Hoppers spirit.

In the words of our co-founder Karan Gokani @karancooks

“Shoreditch lets us celebrate the lesser-known regions of South India while connecting the dots between Sri Lanka and India in a way that feels fresh, vibrant and deeply personal.”
