My Journey to Independent Real Estate Agent

After 14+ years of dedicated work on the London residential landscape, I found myself seeking a different path. The traditional agency model, with its rigid KPIs and constraints, no longer aligned with my philosophy of client service.

As the stars aligned my research led me to @expukestateagent. It was more boundless; it represented the freedom I needed to structure my business and work my way.

Crucially, becoming independent allows me to provide bespoke, highly personalized service, free from the regidness of traditional metrics.

A life nugget by @selfemployedwithsam resonated profoundly: “Trust the timing of your life.”….I needed to hear it and with that, I am now ready.

This is my time to embrace this challenge and provide my clients with the exceptional, undivided focus they deserve.

I am not going into this alone, I want to say a heartfelt thank you to @jameshughesproperty @jonathan.woods.realestate , who have been instrumental in getting me here and the wider collective.

Nurturing relationships is my superpower.

Today’s appraisal was a reminder that this business isn’t always about numbers, fees, or market data. Sometimes, it’s about people first.

I met a gentleman for the first time, and instead of diving straight into valuations and pricing strategies, I listened. Really listened. He needed space to talk, to process, and to understand his options before even thinking about putting his home on the market.

There will always be a time to discuss value and fees. But knowing when not to is just as important, because great service isn’t just about selling property, it’s about guiding people through important life decisions with care, patience, and honesty.

A few weeks ago, I had the pleasure of sponsoring my daughter’s school Summer Carnival, and it was lovely to see my boards displayed around town.

This morning I was awarded the BNI Galaxy Weekly Presentation Cup Winner.

Honestly, this one means a lot! Public speaking has never come naturally to me, so being able to stand up, deliver a clear 60 seconds pitch, and have my chapter truly understand what I do feels like real progress.

A reminder that growth happens when you keep showing up, even when it feels uncomfortable.

This week, a buyer enquired about one of my properties. After a quick conversation, it became clear the home wasn’t quite right for her.
