When the request comes in, you know the one...
“Mum, can you make me a Guinness shirt?”

That’s when you know it’s definitely a lovely day for a Guinness. 🖤☘️

First, I sourced a fresh beer mat for the yoke and a vintage tea towel panel from @vinted. Winning combination.

The pattern was my trusty @wardrobebymepatterns Tropical Shirt. I added some black cotton from the stash and headed off to the sewing room...

Ta-dah! 🍻

Poundbury, Dorchester.
Met up with Sue the very talented @dogsinstitches_and_me for a cuppa and a chat. The vibe was sewing, fabric and laughter 🌸 Sue kindly even showed me where @beyond.thepinkdoor is located, because I’ve yet to visit!
We mooched around a couple of lovely store including @theyardshop and the Dovecote, both worth a visit if you are in the area.
I wore my @libertyfabric pattern the Thea Boho sleeve blouse (I’ve made 3) and Sue has inspired me to sew the pants she was wearing the @thesewingrevival #tsrsidewinderpants and a beautifully hacked @merchantandmills #mmforemanjacket
You can definitely say we received the stripes memo 🤪👍🏻😊

I’ve wanted to make my own book covers for ages! This is my first using up some vintage French linen scraps.

“Take time to create . . . “

Just add an A5 notebook, and start planning your Autumn winter sewing!

Simply measure around the book you want to cover, add a lining and some decorations and sew together by hand.

Storage but let’s make it vintage! In my sewing room I have a wall of vintage vanity cases filled with trims, lace, zips, basically everything you need if you sew!
Recently I decided to give my tools a home there too. My handy @ryobitoolsuk glue gun fits like a dream into this case. Tool storage can be attractive!
