Poundbury, Dorchester.
Met up with Sue the very talented @dogsinstitches_and_me for a cuppa and a chat. The vibe was sewing, fabric and laughter 🌸 Sue kindly even showed me where @beyond.thepinkdoor is located, because I’ve yet to visit!
We mooched around a couple of lovely store including @theyardshop and the Dovecote, both worth a visit if you are in the area.
I wore my @libertyfabric pattern the Thea Boho sleeve blouse (I’ve made 3) and Sue has inspired me to sew the pants she was wearing the @thesewingrevival #tsrsidewinderpants and a beautifully hacked @merchantandmills #mmforemanjacket
You can definitely say we received the stripes memo 🤪👍🏻😊

5 inspiring sewing accounts to follow (if you don’t already)
Alexandria, Martha, Nerrisa, Sydney and Tegan — authentic, creative and endlessly motivating
Scroll on to find out why . . .

#wesew
Sewing account recommendations.

Alexandria @alexandria_arnold
I love her common sense down to earth advice, her personal style and her energy!
Alexandria brings a mix of casual on trend, wearable sewing styles. Calm storytelling and genuinely useful inspiration and information 🤎

Martha @martha_moore_porter 💕
I first discovered Martha when she lived in Scotland 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿. Now back home on her farm in the US 🇺🇸 she grows the most beautiful flowers 🌺
A woman of many talents who not only sews but also teaches classes on heritage sewing techniques. I can also highly recommend her YouTube channel for great tutorials. Martha favours a palette of glorious bright and cheerful pastels.

Nerrisa @nerrisapratt hmmm 🤔 how to describe this force of nature? Incredibly positive and endlessly inspiring that’s how!
Nerrisa can do everything, and make anything. This Queen of crafting is always up for a challenge.
Go follow, add her to your favourites feed and you will see what I mean 😳
Nerrisa is the only one I have actually met in real life. She did not disappoint!

Sydney @hisydgraham 🩵 another multi talented maker. Sydney knits, crochets 🧶 sews and designs her own well drafted patterns. If you already follow her you will also know that she can tile! Check out those tiles on her fire place 🔥
One thing I love reading about are Sydney’s ‘me time’ escapes to nature.
Take a look and say hi from me 🍁

Tegan @whatteganmade sews elegant awe inspiring garments. Her feed features a mix of her impeccable sewing skills mixed with some charming art. Her paintings are lovely 🥰 All her projects feel achievable and are beautifully put together, she shares them with a warmth that makes you want to sew more.

Over to you, do you follow these wonderful accounts?
Share your favourites. . . ❤️❤️❤️

My proudest scrap project everrr 😎😎
sharing in the nick of time for @cinnamondaisystudio #ohscrap #ohscrap26
😱
Not an official entry because it’s an old make but wanted to share what you can do with scraps!
THE DETAILS
Patiently sewn together from fabric scraps I’d usually throw away. Even the lining is from scraps. Fastened with presstuds I already had so £0 to me. 👍🏻
I even made a chair cover from the scraps of this project!
Images : various work in progress behind the scenes, plus me wearing it at the stitch festival and bumping into @suzysankeystudio and @sewlukeivo and meeting Chelsea from @fridaypatterncompany who designed the pattern #ilfordjacket . I even got to model it 💕
Later I embroidered the back using a loaned @pfaffuk embroidery machine.
It took weeks but it was worth every minute of the time I put into it.

My fave bag pattern ever! I’ve made 3 and counting! Brilliant to make as a gift, with or without the ruffle.
I can fit a small water bottle, my phone obvs 🙄 and a little hair brush and my lip balm. It has an inner pocket for tickets and cards too.
Pattern by @newcrafthouse I think this #nchlottiebag is the perfect pattern. Next I’m going to lengthen the strap add a buckle and make it a crossbody style. The potential is endless right? So good for using up your scraps!
