Respond to every call that excites your spirit. - Rumi

My bravest dance moment of 2026? Busting out this epic choreo ALL BY MYSELF in a room full of hundreds of fans.

For those that know me, you know I’ve never loved being in the spotlight - so yeah, this was terrifying. But then the music hit, the nostalgia kicked in, and suddenly I wasn’t overthinking anymore. I was right back in my childhood, dancing like no one was watching.

I was self-conscious. I was nervous. But with a little encouragement, I’m so glad I stepped out of my comfort zone and let little Alisha live out her teenage dream for a moment.

No regrets - just vibes... and a reminder that sometimes the things that scare and challenge us end up being the most fun and worthwile.

Keep dancing, friends!

"In order to understand the dance one must be still. And in order to truly understand stillness one must dance." — Rumi

The Kathak ghungroo ceremony is a cherished milestone for a dancer, symbolizing dedication, discipline, and growth. Receiving ghungroos is not just about wearing ankle bells; it marks a dancer's readiness to embody the soul of Kathak. These bells resonate with every step, carrying the tradition forward, and honoring the teacher's trust in the student’s journey. For many, it's a spiritual connection—a dancer's commitment to rhythm, expression, and the art itself.

I feel humbled, grateful, and blessed—for this community, for my journey, and for the loved ones that have supported me along the way. 🙏🏼❤️✨

"Dance to express, not to impress."

"Dance is the hidden language of the soul."

THANK YOU to all of my teachers, DanceFams, fellow artists, and dance moms and dads who give our souls a voice - a way to express that which cannot be put into words.

Happy International Dance Day!

And still, after all this time,
The sun never says to the earth,
"You owe Me."

Look what happens with
A love like that,
It lights the whole sky.

What appears to be an end in the road may only be a bend in the road. Look what beauty awaits just around the corner, if only we choose to make the turn, and go with the flow as the river changes its course.
