if you want to party with someone who might know… meet army rampage aka ram - the star of project homebound & a prisoner himself. lucky for ram, we are obsessed with him 🖤

last week, we met with @georgiadogtrainer and some of our friends at @athenspets for a behind the scenes tour of the county program project homebound - a training program which utilizes incarcerated inmates who are interested in building a career in dog training upon release to work with some of the “less adoptable dogs” at the county shelter. typically, dogs spend a month or few in this program and are adopted or rescued.

some, like ram, fall through the cracks. he’s been there over a year. nearly his entire life.

here’s where you come in: we have plans to work with him soon out of the jail and in the real world to get to know our guy. we hope to move him to an approved foster. will you share his story? we want an adopter waiting. he’s so amazing. high drive, so smart, the sweetest thing ever… he just needs someone to see him. we do, and now you do too.

ram is a healthy, 1.5 yo black lab x pittie mix and a dream dog for an active person. just give him a chance? please share his story with two people you know and help us find his forever. he’s just a baby. he doesn’t belong in jail. taken in Athens, Georgia by @athenspets

Maggie is ADOPTED! 🥹❤️
She was my shortest foster yet (only 3 days) but somehow we packed a lot into that time! Once she opened up, she was the sweetest, silliest, most playful girl, with just a little bit of Velcro dog mixed in.
Maggie is 5 years old and came from a scary past of neglect, but despite everything she’s been through, she’s still so sweet and loving. I’m so happy she gets to start this next chapter with her forever family and finally enjoy the life she deserves.
I’m definitely sad to say goodbye, but mostly just so happy for her. Congrats, Maggie! You hit the jackpot. 🐾❤️ taken in Athens, Georgia by @athenspets

I had the pleasure of taking Miles to the @marigoldfarmersmarket yesterday. Let’s just say he was such a good boy considering he had never been to an event like this, as far as we know. After spending weeks in his kennel, he just wanted to take in all the sights and smells around him. Everyone was so sweet with him and he was too. He also was good with his fellow canines, just wanting to play.

He’s a beautiful 3 year old boy that would do so well in a home with kids and/or other dogs to play with.

Please see about Miles. He’s at Athens Clarke County Animal Services

Knightly has been one of our longest residents in the Project Homebound program, and I truly can’t understand why. This sweet boy has been waiting for over a year, and every single day he shows us just how much love he has to give.

Yes, he gets excited when he first meets new people — but can you blame him? When you’ve been overlooked for so long, every hello feels like a chance at the life he’s been dreaming of. Underneath that burst of enthusiasm is a well‑trained, loyal, deeply affectionate dog who just wants to belong to someone.

Knightly is wonderful with kids, eager to learn, and happiest when he’s moving. If you’re someone who loves taking your dog on runs, adventures, or just enjoys an active companion by your side, he would be perfect for you.

He deserves his chance. He deserves his person. And we’re hoping that person finally sees him. ❤️🐕🫶

Help! I am heading out of town for a few days (September 26-30) and need to find a temporary foster for Ace. Usually we have a house sitter but we’re taking our 3 pups to the beach and can’t bring Ace. He is super easy and chill! Quiet, house trained, crate trained, and loves to get pets. If you can help (or just go ahead and friggin adopt this sweetheart) please reach out! 💕🐾 taken in Athens, Georgia by @athenspets

Spike’s story is one of resilience, patience, and quiet magic. ✨
After months of waiting at Project Homebound, he never lost hope — and neither did the inmates who trained him with patience and full hearts.

He was adopted once before, but returned after just two days… long before he had the chance to decompress, settle, or show the incredible dog he truly is. But Spike didn’t let that moment define him.

And then came the family who saw him.
Really saw him.

They gave him the gift of time — a full week to breathe, unwind, and let his personality unfold. And in that space, Spike did what Spike always does: he shined. They saw how beautifully trained he was, how loyal and gentle his spirit is, and how much joy he carries in that goofy, loving heart of his.

Today, we get to say the words we’ve all been waiting for…

Spike has been officially adopted! 🏡💛 by @athenspets

Another Project Homebound success story 🥰 Our boy Chop is off to bring joy, love, and plenty of personality to his new home — exactly as he was born to do. And judging by his adopter photo, he wasted no time making himself right at home. Another successful story for the Project Homebound dogs 🐕! Our adorable boy Rolo has been adopted 🫶🙌🏼. It was love at first sight for both the human and the dog. Please share this wonderful project—it's beneficial not only for the dogs but also for the inmates, bringing a touch of sunshine to their day.
