POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED

It was wonderful seeing Devo, Taco, Ruby, and Winnie getting loved on at @rescuepawsuga fall fest at @creaturecomfortsathens. I usually take videos but I’m glad to have caught some tender moments with people loving on these dogs that have been through so much.

Our hope is that they get fostered or adopted (Winnie is currently being fostered but can be adopted at any moment) soon. They’re so sweet and such love bugs. Yes, Ruby needs some patience as she is more on the timid side, but she’s come a long way. 🥰

These dogs and so many more good ones are at Athens Clarke County Animal Services at 125 Buddy Christian Way in Athens

Shelter hours: Mon 12-3; T-Sat 11-4, Sun 12-3

Our sweet Maggie girl is looking for her forever home AGAIN! 🥹❤️

Maggie came into rescue alongside her two siblings, all showing signs of neglect. While both of her siblings have since found their forever homes, Maggie has had a harder time finding hers because she was in worse shape health-wise. But if you could see this girl now, you would be amazed at how far she’s come!

Her skin allergies have improved SO much, she’s finally gaining some much-needed weight, and she’s looking healthier every day. Despite everything she’s been through, Maggie has remained one of the sweetest, most gentle dogs I’ve ever met. ❤️

Unfortunately, Maggie was recently adopted and returned because her adopters felt she was too large. But I promise, this girl is about as easygoing as they come!

Maggie is 5 years old, currently around 80 pounds, and will likely top out around 85. She walks beautifully on a leash, doesn’t jump, is crate trained, and has the calmest demeanor. She’s wonderful with dogs, cats, and people, and I truly believe she could fit into just about any home.

It’s hard to understand how a dog who has experienced so much neglect can still have so much love and trust to give, but that’s Maggie. She doesn’t ask for much, just a family who will finally give her the love and stability she’s always deserved.

Please share this sweet girl and help us find her FOREVER family! 🐾

Petunia is technically a Cane Corso puppy, but at around 70 pounds she’s already serving full “gentle giant in training” energy.

She joined Project Homebound less than three weeks ago, and this big baby has been crushing her obedience like she’s trying to graduate early. Her sits are solid, her recalls are sharp, and her temperament? Sweet, steady, and absolutely irresistible.

Petunia is the kind of dog who makes you look at her and think, “Oh… you’re going to be that dog — the one everyone wishes they adopted first.”

And the best part?
She’s available for adoption through Athens‑Clarke County Animal Services.
Someone out there is about to get a stunning, soulful, muscle‑wrapped marshmallow of a companion.

🌸🐶 Petunia is thriving. She’s learning fast. And she’s ready for her person.

we will stand by army rampage “ram” forever for the rest of time 🖤

his story nearly ended differently, but thanks to project homebound, @athenspets, @danicalenti & most importantly @georgiadogtrainer - he made it

if you aren’t familiar with PHB let us be the first to sing the praises of this program. sweet ram was there for over a year, after spending the first six months of his life in the shelter. he came to accas after an animal cruelty case. he was adopted and returned. he got lost in the shelter - another black dog - another pittie mix. PHB saved his life. adriana and the inmates trained him to perfection. as a big strong black power-breed 1.5yo, he was never chosen. adriana and danielle knew his days were numbered before kennel stress and deterioration were on the horizon.

he needed a rescue. we will never thank these women enough for trusting us, letting us in, and advocating for our guy. we are head over paws for ram, and so happy to report that he is safe and happy and spoiled and loved. decompressing now with his foster @sarahcohen33, who intends to adopt if it is a fit with her pup/home.

this magical story is soon to be happily ever after and we would love if you shared it. follow us, @athenspets and @georgiadogtrainer so you can keep up with other PHB dogs and don’t be surprised if you see us intaking more 😉

After 1 year and a half of waiting… Rampage is finally SAFE.
Six months in the shelter. Over a year in Project Homebound. And today, he’s walking out with a future — because a whole village refused to give up on him.

Tot_rescue stepped in and went above and beyond to find the perfect foster home (and potential adopter). They didn’t just pull him… they made sure he landed softly.

This is the kind of magic that happens when everyone shows up.
Thank you Tot_rescue, Athenspets, Athens-Clarke County Animal Services, Danielle Calienti, Clint Ess, Sandice Thrasher, Officer Burress, Jordan Huff… and especially the guys at Project Homebound who kept him happy, safe, and loved for over a year.

Rampage finally gets his chance. And we couldn’t be more proud of him for hanging in there, with a heart full of love to give ❤️
