As of 8:00 a.m. on Wednesday, October 14, 2026, the City of Atlanta Department of Watershed Management (DWM) has lifted the Boil Water Advisory issued on Sunday, October 11, 2026, for all residents and businesses in South Fulton, Fairburn, Union City, Chattahoochee Hills, and Palmetto.

Sampling results have confirmed that no contamination was detected in the public water system. Water may be used for all purposes without boiling. The City’s drinking water meets or exceeds standards established by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) under the Federal Safe Drinking Water Act. Also, the Georgia Environmental Protection Division has been notified.

DWM remains committed to protecting the safety and well-being of all our customers. We apologize for any inconvenience.

The boil water advisory for portions of Atlanta (Southwest & Northwest), South Fulton, Fairburn, Union City, Chattahoochee Hills, and Palmetto residents and businesses remains in effect. This advisory was issued out of an abundance of caution following a water supply interruption at the Chattahoochee Water Treatment Plant. The advisory is expected to be lifted by 1 p.m. on Tuesday, October 13, 2026, pending confirmation of water quality results.
