It has been one of those weekends that sneak up on you and get you thinking. These last couple of months have been rough for our little music community and the year itself has been vastly different from what we had expected coming into it. As I climbed through the photos on my phone tonight, I just have a sense of overwhelming gratitude for the experiences and opportunities that we have had recently. We don’t quite fit anywhere convenient, we never have and frankly, we like it that way. To those that have shown us so much love and support, we just can’t thank you enough.

We are here for the friendships, for the connections, for those times when a person really needs a moment without the weight of it all. We are here for the long drives, for the seedy bars, for the folks that could use something good to walk out the door with. We are here for the couples that haven’t made their way to the dance floor in far too long and for all of those folks that never seem to leave it. We are here for the music but maybe more importantly, we are here for all of the magic that takes place when the show is over.

Thanks to everyone that has invested their time and their love and their support to us. We hope that in some small way you feel like we have returned that favor. We have a busy several weeks coming up. Wish us luck and we will see you out there. ❤️💪🎉 by @atthewatertower

Saturday night hustle on down to Southeast Colorado to catch our set at the incredible Good Wood Festival in Rocky Ford, Colorado. Today is the last day of business for @westernskybarco On Saturday we were honored to have been asked to take part in the last big bash before Harrison and Whitney reclaim their lives and turn over the bar to the next lucky owner. We feel so fortunate to have been a part of this.

Western Sky is where I(Brent) met Jeremiah, arguably setting the path for us to create our current sound.

When we had the idea to host a classic country night where 3-5 bands come together to play a bunch of old country hits, Harrison didn’t bat an eye when we pitched the idea to him. Beyond that, he made it work no matter how many players/instruments and crazy ideas we threw at him. In fact, last time we got to play a few songs with Harrison and Whitney (and if you haven’t heard Whitney sing……. You are missing out. Damn!)

Beyond that, Harrison suggested songwriter events to me and has always supported us, even when we haven’t been around enough. Hell, they even took the night off to come to our show at The Bluebird last year.

They hosted comedy shows, the most creative trivia nights that I have ever been to, open mic, karaoke, book clubs, running clubs, ballot explanation nights, days of craft vendors and of course music of all kinds. If there was ever a night that I was looking for something to do, I knew that whatever was going on at Western Sky would be good.

The forgotten mile of South Broadway has been brighter over the last 5 years thanks to Harrison, Whitney and Western Sky. This neighborhood will miss this place as it was truly one of a kind.

Thank you Harrison and Whitney for all of the love, care, community and good times that you have given our Englewood neighborhood over the last 5 years. We hope that where ever the road takes you, it is as amazing as the place that you welcomed us into for the last 5 years.
