@auamirs

POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED

For the fourth year in a row, Best Delegate has ranked AUMUN as the #1 team in the World Division of Collegiate Model UN - making us the first team in history to hold the top spot for four consecutive years. 🏆
This year’s success reflects the heart, grit, and commitment of every single delegate on our team. We gave it everything, and it paid off.
This season, AUMUN attended 12 conferences, earned 6 delegation awards, and won over 100 individual awards. Most importantly, we continued to lead the circuit through diplomacy, empathy, and excellence.

Here’s some of what we had to say to Best Delegate:
“American University is officially in a league of its own… this unprecedented fourth consecutive #1 ranking sets AUMUN apart from any other collegiate Model UN program in history… This achievement wasn’t built in a single year - it’s the product of over a decade of drive, determination, and culture-building… The AUMUN team culture centers camaraderie… Support, friendship, and mentorship are what keep this team strong… Four years at #1 is just the beginning! We are American. Second to none. And we own the finish line!” 🦅

A huge thank you to @au_sis for their unwavering support, and to all those who help make this possible behind the scenes.

To every alum, past leader, and delegate who helped build this program from the ground up - this legacy is yours too. Your work laid the foundation for everything we’ve accomplished, and we’re proud to carry it forward.

Thank you to our leadership this year - James Bole, Jake Glasser, Tejasvi Hariharan, Emily Hojnoski, Dhruv Lingala, Makena Muindi, and Sievalee Wijayawardhana - for guiding this team through another record-breaking season.

And to our seniors: thank you for everything. You’ve built a legacy that will last.

Here’s to four in a row - and everything still to come. Go Eagles! 🦅 by @au_modelun

For a third year in a row, Best Delegate has ranked AUMUN as the #1 team in the World Division of Collegiate Model UN. This entire team has given it all this season to become the best team there is. Every member of the team worked tirelessly throughout the year to lead the circuit through kindness, empathy, and diplomacy. American won the most individual awards, attended thirteen MUN conferences, and won five delegation awards. We could not be more proud and congrats to all of our delegates!

Here’s some of what we had to say to Best Delegate:

American University is incredibly proud of our competitive season, and the dedication shown by each and every member of AUMUN to get us here! Throughout the 2023-2024 season, we’ve built on our financial accessibility, allowing members to travel and compete throughout North America. Whether it was in Boston, Atlanta or Los Angeles- we are always in awe of the passion, drive, and skill of each member of our competitive team! To our seniors- thank you for your tireless effort, through online-Model UN or during our transition to in-person competition. Your work saw our organization through its four most successful competitive years to date. To our new members and underclassmen- thank you for your willingness to join our community, to travel and compete, and we can’t wait to see how you grow throughout the rest of your time at American. Here’s to next season: to more potlucks, water balloon fights, late-night prep sessions and (hopefully) working Amtraks. The future of AUMUN is in good hands with all of you. Go Eagles!

Thank you to all of our leadership from this year— Merissa Joju, Ellie White, Ellis Glazer, Jordan Baker, Flynn Gray, and Dhruv Lingala— for all your work towards this team. And to our outgoing seniors, you will always have a home in AUMUN! See you all soon! by @au_modelun

Following a record-breaking 2022-2023 season, Best Delegate has ranked AUMUN as the #1 team in the World Division of Collegiate Model UN, for 2 years in a row! This entire team has given it all this season to become the best team there is. American won by far the most individual awards, the second most gavels, and the most delegation awards across a circuit-high twelve MUN conferences. We could not be more proud, congrats to all of our delegates!

Here’s some of what we had to say to Best Delegate:

American University’s success story, rising in the ranks over the course of a few short years was nothing short of a feat, made possible only by the sheer passion, drive, and dedication of its members, what we all consider to be family. From the three-peat Best Large Delegation Awards that brought us to the #1 spot in the fall, to the coast-to-coast simultaneous victories in the spring, AUMUN never ceases to amaze. They are, put simply, a force that continues to be reckoned with. I’ve always remained in awe of this team, with its camaraderie of which there is no rival, of its unwavering commitment to mentorship in and out of the committee room, and its celebrations of every win. They dominate not only in their friendship, compassion, and loyalty to each other but also in their call to foster a new age of inclusivity and equity in the circuit. The powerhouse that is AUMUN looks forward to the upcoming season with a team and a family that will hopefully stop taking “tokens” from conference hotels, will continue to have major water wars and extensive debriefs, and will usher in our new incoming class with the same rigor and passion for MUN and diplomacy. Last year, we achieved our highest rank ever, and it wasn’t even close. We can’t wait for the year to come!

Thank you to all of our past leadership from this year for all the work you put in towards this team, and to our outgoing seniors, you will always have a home in AUMUN, see you soon! by @au_modelun

This past weekend AUMUN sent a fun sized delegation to FUNMUNC hosted by Fordham University in New York City. Between immersing themselves in the world of cinematography or exploring the Big Apple our delegates preserved and prevailed. We are so proud of our amazing delegates!

APPLY APPLY APPLY!
Are you interested in political, international relations, or advocacy? Are you looking for a tight-knit social and educational community? Do you want to discuss current events with students from across the country? If you said yes to any of these questions, AUMUN is the place for you.

For those interested, American University Model United Nations tryouts will be held across three different sessions on September 19th and September 20th. Prospective students only have to attend one session based on their availability. These tryouts will simulate a body of the United Nations, where each student is representing a different country.

The tryout is very open to students with no Model UN experience. To prepare those students, or any others looking for a refresher or guidance on the tryout, the AUMUN Team will be holding two MUN101 sessions. These will cover the basics of MUN as well as the tryout.

@bestdelegate has ranked AUMUN as the #6 team in the World Division of Collegiate Model UN for 2025-2026! Following up four years of unprecedented circuit success is not an easy task, but our team took it up without fear. In a season where our team identity and culture was challenged, our members truly proved that the foundation of our organization’s success will continue to be the love we share for this team, the empathy we extend to others, and the standard of excellence we strive to set. This season, AUMUN competed at 12 conferences, winning 2 delegation awards and over 75 individual awards.

Here’s some of what we had to say to Best Delegate:

What continues to distinguish AUMUN is the culture of community, mentorship, and ambition that drives our success year after year. We are immensely grateful to our thirteen graduating seniors for their leadership and lasting impact on this team, and we cannot wait to see all they accomplish in the future. We are also thankful for the dedication of our 2025-26 leadership team: Head Delegate Sievalee Wijayawardhana, alongside Assistant Head Delegates Zach Guerrero, Cindy Yang, Abbie Causey, Warren Richthammer, Sri Vellakkat, and Laila Kirkpatrick. Finally, we are deeply appreciative of our outgoing faculty advisor, Dr. Jeff Bachman, whose unwavering support guided AUMUN into the most successful era in our team’s history so far. As we look toward the future, we are excited to welcome a new generation of delegates and continue building on the traditions, friendships, and competitive excellence that define AUMUN. Go Eagles! by @au_modelun

Congratulations to Anderson Korman (‘26) for making his third consecutive appearance on the Best Delegate All-Star Team! Delegates from across the circuit nominate their peers for this distinction, recognizing those who demonstrate leadership, skill, and cooperation in committee. Being accepted onto an All Star team is a testament to a delegate’s dedication to excellence in diplomacy, competitive success, and the respect they have garnered from their peers.

This All Star selection is particularly special as 2025-2026 was Anderson’s final season on the circuit. Anderson’s commitment to greatness has left a lasting impact on the circuit and our team. We will miss you, Anderson!
