Double boom! Two mkh50s for a two person interview. I'm using two Sound Devices Astral TX, paired with the 888+ARX8.

The anamorphic lens gives me a nice low frameline. I am gavoring the inside of both talent, anticipating that they will talk to each other a lot.

The 888 can automix a live interview. This prevents phasing between microphones and can help keep the background levels low. by @audio412

Today I discovered a hidden feature of the Easy Rig Easy Boom. 🌂 I was holding an umbrella, waiting out the rain. The umbrella kept knocking into the Easy Rig arm. For a brief moment I was annoyed, but then I realized how close I was to making this work. While it is definitely NOT the recommended use, I will probably do this again.

I'm really liking how this harness distributes the weight of the mixer bag. As I get more comfortable wearing it, the Easy Boom will become my go to harness for most solo bag & boom scenarios. #soundmixer #boomoperator #easyrig taken in Mt. Washington by @audio412

"Chelsea" is a new found footage comedy that takes place in Pittsburgh, PA. I've been playing the sound mixer Oxley, as well as producing, writing, and editing behind the camera. After 2 years and 4 months and filming, writing, and rewriting, we have finally wrapped our main storyline. The goal is to release a 70-minute movie this November, 3 years after the project began. I can't thank my friends enough for coming together to make this idea a reality. I still have A LOT of post-production to get through, but it feels real now. Our first feature film is almost a reality, and I cant wait to share it with all of you!

Its time to set up my boom! I use an avenger stand with a boom hook for almost every interview. The Astral TX gives me a wireless setup I know I can rely on.
🎙
This is my tried and true method for capturing interview audio. Its simple, but a lot of new mixers will skip the finals steps to get the mic truly as close as possible to the frameline. Landing on the framline while allowing talent the freedom to move is the art of the job.

My VO setup for the first 6 table build videos. I used the internal 32-bit float recording feature, skipping my mixer and offloading the files straight to my laptop. This is a great feature when youre trying to record something quick with a small footprint.

It seems we've lost a few videos along the way, but the show must go on. Here is the status update for the video table. I've aquired black fabric and some lights. Ive also added some more pieces to the framework.

Im using gorilla tape to help hold the structure together. It's also doubling as temp blackout for the piping. Matte tape would be better, but we're not there yet.

This will make more sense when viewed from the overhead camera. by @audio412
