Recurring tonalities search for balanced, mesmerising measures. Takes connect and disguise, a powerful intimacy leads to aural fiction.

‘yritys’ is the result of a long-distance collaboration and correspondence between composers Demetrio Cecchitelli and Simon Hansson. After meeting during a performance at KET / TV Control in Athens, May 2025, an under-the-skin kind of friendship quickly formed: a relation somewhere between constellations.

The album consists of eight intuitive and ingenious attempts, ranging from office recordings to scattered gestures, blurring into immersive electroacoustic spaces. The work explores timbral juxtaposition and tonal balance through cello, guitar, piano, flute, and environmental recordings processed with DSP and analog devices.

Splintered whispers tap on digital glass, a pale wreckage for a luminous rebirth.

Transmissions fade, rough thematics translate the vertical landscape, unfolded in motion. A pulse breaks, the circuitry breathes, echoes and static reveal a haunted machine. Build out of a secret frequency a mirage rises behind a trembling veil. The ciphers trace the invisible geometry of the hum. All symbols corrode and dissolve as we melt into clouds of gold.

‘Ótre Rotor Vitrea’ by Anelli Borghi Remondino

“Ótre Rotor Vitrea” introduces a trio comprised of Andrea Borghi (prepared turntable, electroacoustic devices, computer), Michele Anelli (electronics, tapes, double bass), and Nicholas Remondino (prepared davul, objects, poem). The album’s sonic identity was further shaped by Lorenzo Abattoir, who guided the recording and editing stages and was responsible for mixing and mastering, preserving both the raw physicality of sound and its subtle intricacies.

The work unfolds as an exploration of sound as material, where gesture, texture, and resonance take precedence over melody or pulse. The trio approaches their instruments as extensions of a larger organism: a composite hyper-instrument built from prepared turntables, tapes, percussion, strings, stones, and found objects, whose boundaries remain deliberately porous. Each sound source retains its identity while simultaneously merging into a collective fabric, blurring distinctions between instrument, object, and environment.

Across the recording, layers of friction, vibration, and decay accumulate and disperse, forming a constantly shifting landscape. Moments of density contrast with passages of near silence, where the smallest detail—scratches, breath, the weight of an object—becomes audible. The album resists linear progression, instead emphasizing the unfolding of timbral states, fragile balances, and fleeting structures that arise and dissolve in the act of improvisation.

“Ótre Rotor Vitrea” captures not a fixed composition but a process in motion, a document of sound shaped at the edge of control, where intention and accident coexist, and where listening itself becomes the primary mode of composition.

Bewitched by immortality, dunes of white sand slice up innumerable shattered shapes. Scraped visuals organise themselves as a piece of splendid imagist prose that advances time.

A pitch forms, mutating into a frayed framework. A marble pavement represents the collapsed gateway into a plain interior. As an apiary in open space, a foreboding shrine remains atop a high plinth. Gnomic system of dials melts with dissociated aesthetics, which ultimately ends in heaven.

‘Aluxes’ by Sequences

Spectral images shuttled to a crackling sound. Split seas and forked lightning. Images of light, living cosmologies. A life of shadows, concealed. Hunger for the past, the present unfolds.

In 2022 I embarked on a cycling trip through the south of Mexico, for more than 120 days I cycled from south to east, from north to west, along the Gulf of Mexico and the Pacific Ocean. As a ‘peregrino’ (as they call it over there) I went from one site of Maya ruins to the next, through jungle, mountains & desert. Notebook, camera and audio recorder always on hand. Two wheels, a tent and always searching for something to eat. Alone or with other travellers looking for the paths less trodden.

On the lookout for ancient lay-lines while composing a spiritual autobiography. The field recordings I collected ended up on all of the tracks of this album, alongside processed sounds from guitar, tape loops & modular synthesizer. The result is ‘Aluxes’, a found catalogue of memories.

All field recordings on Aluxes recorded while traveling through the states of Quintana Roo, Yucatan, Campeche, Tabasco, Veracruz, Oaxaca and Chiapas in México between November 2022 and March 2023.

Performed using guitar, zither, magnetophone and eurorack modular system.

All tracks recorded, composed & produced by Niels Geybels.

A shepherd lies amid the mountains in his library of mist, a dormant sentry directing his dreams towards the mythology of feathers.

Symbols of the hereafter dilute by reverberating clouds. A whirlpool of weather collects in a bone-rattling and sinister coil. Clear tones of the mind glide by the rush of water, there’s room for a passage. Excavated ceremonial platforms stand watch as the sentinel spire spirits linger along. Swinging currents of sulphurous air, plumage left in the jungle.

Angles looking for light, sprung forth from unearthed mirrors. Elemental chaos decorates the reticence lost within.

A carved spectral activity and a harmonious negativity serve the generation of momentum. Various variants of darkness degauss the silenced remnants, textured clusters rise amid disposed sculptural forms. Spiral formations of smoke wrap and exhibit the wilderness of the room. As lengths of thread gradually multiply, the viewer has lost sight of his perception.

‘Moving Houses’ by Waning End.

Amongst the dust and sealed windows a key is laid bare to unlock the forgotten and reanimate reality. A garden of solitary reminiscence opens up as a gleaming tunnel, confronting visions of a derelict eden.

Moving Houses is the debut collaborative effort of Niels Geybels & Angel Simitchiev under the name Waning End. It was created in an intuitive and impulsive exchange of sounds, ideas, and recollections. The process spanned within just a few months but it was inspired by a lifelong fascination with nostalgia, with the urge to retrace what we leave behind or what we find along the way. Waning End was a means to revisit places that are no longer ‘ours’ but that made us who we are today.

On the surface, Moving Houses builds a world where abandonment and emptiness reign supreme but the closer you listen the more you recognize the echoes of your own looping memories, saturated images, and fading presences of (not so) distant moments in time. Waning End embraces the past and orchestrates its fragile debris in a glacially paced, densely textural musical experience that welcomes you not only as a spectator but as a participant as well.
