Today is Bandcamp Friday — a great occasion to discover an album born directly out of KET’s programming and the ongoing work of connecting artists that we have been carrying out for years. “yritys” is the result of a long-distance collaboration and correspondence between composers Demetrio Cecchitelli (Italy) and Simon Hansson (Denmark). After meeting at KET in Athens in May 2025, where they were both programmed on the same bill, an under-the-skin kind of friendship quickly formed — a relationship somewhere between constellations. The album consists of eight intuitive and inventive pieces, ranging from office recordings to scattered gestures, unfolding into immersive electroacoustic spaces. The work explores timbral juxtaposition and tonal balance through cello, guitar, piano, flute, and environmental recordings, processed using DSP and analog devices. Enjoy the listen, and happy May Day! 🎧 Listen: link in bio (or copy/paste ↓) https://audiovisualsatmosphere.bandcamp.com/album/yritys

I barely paid attention to new releases in the second half of the year, but I’ve been going through some lists and found some pretty cool stuff. Most of these are friends’ lists, since most webzines seem to have jumped on the trend bus along with all the hype and performative listeners. Anyway, I decided to stick to my initial Top 3 to make things easier. Here’s #2. On Sequences' 'Aluxes' Personal journeys — from the ruminations of an urban hermit to the gold-seeking Alaskan expeditions depicted by Jack London — have long been documented through words and images. Sound alone, whether recorded or synthesized, has been used far less often as a journaling medium, usually by a small, unconventional sect of misfits — their interests often scientific, sometimes ethnographic, occasionally poetic. This scarcity may have historically been dictated by technological limitations, which today are nearly nonexistent. If anything, modern tools — affordable and portable — call for a realignment of the act of journaling, documenting, and remembering, for the identity of a time, a place, and, dare I say, an individual, is also its sounds. It’s important to note that the act of documenting a trip need not be purely objective or rational, for the inner journey rarely unfolds with such precision. A confluence of gathered and synthesized sounds, respectfully manipulated, detuned, and mangled to taste, may offer a closer representation of what the mind actually recollects. - pretentious nonsense goes on in the comments -

⏰ Anelli Borghi Remondino - ‘Ótre Rotor Vitrea’ is out today! 📯 The work unfolds as an exploration of sound as material, where gesture, texture, and resonance take precedence over melody or pulse. The trio approaches their instruments as extensions of a larger organism: a composite hyper-instrument built from prepared turntables, tapes, percussion, strings, stones, and found objects, whose boundaries remain deliberately porous. Each sound source retains its identity while simultaneously merging into a collective fabric, blurring distinctions between instrument, object, and environment. 🎛️ “Ótre Rotor Vitrea” introduces a trio comprised of Andrea Borghi (prepared turntable, electroacoustic devices, computer), Michele Anelli (electronics, tapes, double bass), and Nicholas Remondino (prepared davul, objects, poem). The album’s sonic identity was further shaped by Lorenzo Abattoir, who guided the recording and editing stages and was responsible for mixing and mastering, preserving both the raw physicality of sound and its subtle intricacies. 💿 CD & digital available via the Audio. 💿 Announcing: a new CD release on Audio. Visuals. Atmosphere. “Ótre Rotor Vitrea” introduces a trio comprised of Andrea Borghi (prepared turntable, electroacoustic devices, computer), Michele Anelli (electronics, tapes, double bass), and Nicholas Remondino (prepared davul, objects, poem). The album’s sonic identity was further shaped by Lorenzo Abattoir, who guided the recording and editing stages and was responsible for mixing and mastering, preserving both the raw physicality of sound and its subtle intricacies. 🪐 Across the recording, layers of friction, vibration, and decay accumulate and disperse, forming a constantly shifting landscape. Moments of density contrast with passages of near silence, where the smallest detail—scratches, breath, the weight of an object—becomes audible. The album resists linear progression, instead emphasizing the unfolding of timbral states, fragile balances, and fleeting structures that arise and dissolve in the act of improvisation. 🎧 Pre-order is up now, the full album releases in 2 weeks on the 19th of September. #audiovisualsatmosphere #compactdisc #electronicmusic #musiqueconcrete #undergroundmusic #ambient #dronemusic #soundart
