In rest, quietness + trust is where your strength returns. (Isaiah 30)

I think silence + rest are severely underrated. As a textbook introvert, in an extrovert life, if I don’t make time for this, it won’t happen. And it’s a guarantee that my cup will run dry within days of not refilling it.

Days.
Not weeks.
Or months.
Days.

Over the years I’ve learned to get creative with these “fuel-ups”. Sending the kids to the store with dad . Sitting in the car (alone) upon returning home from work. Taking a walk. Perusing the aisles of my favorite shop. It doesn’t always have to be a girls trip to Vegas (although, I’m here for that too). Just a couple moments here + there that eventually add up to a full cup. And if you’re lucky, sometimes that cup overfloweth. 🙌🏻

In this fast-paced life, where it seems praise only comes if you hustle all day, don’t forget about you. Your cup. Your heart. Your spirit.

You’re not being selfish.
You’re doing what is necessary to thrive, not just survive.
To LIVE.
And live with joy + abundance, not a depleated cup.

A small piece of burning or glowing coal or wood in a dying fire.

At the end of the day, when you feel like there’s nothing left of you.
When there’s nothing left to give your spouse.
When there’s nothing left to give your kids.
Your job.
Your home.
Your goals.
Your calendar.

Look for the embers.
The things… the people… your God, who is still burning amidst the dying fire. 🤍
