I’m humbled and profoundly grateful to receive the Community Impact Award. This recognition belongs to every person who has supported this journey and believed in the power of representation and change.

Thank you to LaRian Finney and Derrick Chase for seeing not just the visible work, but acknowledging the efforts that happen behind the scenes. Your recognition means everything.

Thank you, Baltimore. Let’s keep making history together.

Unapologetically wise.
Unapologetically gray.
And I’m entering my Silver Fox era. 🩶

The closer I get to 60, the more I appreciate what these silver strands actually represent. Wisdom. Experience. Growth.

I’ve been inspired by the fabulous @xojalonda who proves that gray can be edgy, sexy and fly.

And Ms. Pearl? @iampearlmackey, she understood the assignment with this new cut. She’s been encouraging me on this gray-hair journey, and I’m loving where we’re going.

Almost 60. Still evolving. Still having fun with my look. And the husband likes it too…so there’s that. 😍😋😘

And NO @vblue12 this is NOT A “WIG”. It’s all mine🤣🤣🤣🤣.

Wisdom looks good on me. 🩶

I entered Bennett College as a NYC girl. I graduated as a Bennett Woman.

Watching “A Different World” took me ALL the way back. Living in Barge Hall and Player Hall. Going over to A&T. GHOE… IYKYK. The road trips in the Yellow Bandino and all the stories that will stay right where they are.

Bennett was so much more than the fun. It was sisterhood. It was growing up. It was learning how to carry myself, how to use my voice and how to walk into a room knowing I belonged there.

I came from New York with all my NYC confidence, but Bennett refined me.

BRAVO to Felicia Pride, Kim Coleman and our ICON, Ms. Debbie Allen. Y’all DID THAT! You understood the assignment and did it well. Black excellence to say the least:

✔️ The cast — Perfect.
✔️ The storylines — Relevant and real for 2026.
✔️ Stirring up my HBCU memories — 1000%.

A Different World wasn’t just a television show. It showed the world, an experience you wanted to be part of.

Happy National Daughters Day to @genzexec, my best work and the best part of me. 💚

Here’s what I’ve learned: while you’re busy raising a daughter, she’s quietly raising you too. She taught me patience I didn’t know I had. She showed me how to laugh at myself. And lately, she’s reminding me how to run my own race.

I’m turning 60 next year, and I’m stepping into this next chapter with more courage than I had at 30. A lot of that comes from watching Sierra be exactly who she is, unapologetically, without asking permission.

We grew up together, baby girl. And we’re still growing. 💚

Keep standing tall, Molly Lou Melon. I love you and I’m so proud of you.

Yale is a Ravens fan. I’m a New York Giants woman. Under normal circumstances, that should have ended things before they started.

But then I saw that beard. 🙌🏾😍💋❤️

The beard got my attention on day one and the man behind it - is keeping it.

Now, there’s a little more silver, the football rivalry is real, and more importantly, he continues to makes me smile.

I love you @yalemadison. But let’s be clear, I’m still not rooting for the Ravens. 💙❤️

ON THE ROAD TO 60: THE SMILE EDITION 😁

😄😄😄😄😄😄

Y’all. The braces are OFF!

And yes, I immediately started taking pictures of my teeth. 😂 I waited too long for this moment not to!

As I get closer to 60, I find myself thinking about women like Lena Horne and Diahann Carroll. Two women I always thought had the most beautiful smiles. But it wasn’t just their teeth.

It was the confidence.

The elegance.

The way they were completely comfortable being grown women.

That part hits differently now.

Getting braces at 58 wasn’t about trying to look younger. It was self care and maintenance.

And today, I got to see the result.

New smile. Same Audra. Just a little closer to 60 and feeling pretty damn good about it. 😁

Just call me LENA DIAHANN 😁😁😁 by @audrawashington
