Mountain Down out now

POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED

Delighted to announce a new event, cross.currents; ambient music in the hull of a beautiful big boat.

Cross.currents is a long-form ambient experiment at @theatreship. An amorphous musical space where sounds and thoughts wash in and out. A slow wave of sonic transport for a much deserved Sunday splay down, sketch-book and long tea by your side

The performance will begin with distinct individual musical voices laying down textures and colours separately, these solo passages gather towards an inexorable, pulsing whole as they are collected together and re-interpreted as parts of an ensemble. Melodic and rhythmic flotsam wash up and coalesce into an amalgous orchestra, as solo-sections are built into symphony .

Our featured artists include the serrated shoegaze spread of @knee.gnaw’s violin, the propulsive rhythms and melodic adventure from the cello of @augustcooke, and the soaring saxophone and guitar textures of @inbuiltobsolescence - plus many wonderful guest artists including the incredible vocals of @evisachenko. These guest and feature segments will then be collected and re-orchestrated live by inbuilt obsolescence.

Thank you for listening to Mountain Down !

a really different thing for me to make a track that doesnt strive to go anywhere … that seeks peace as things are … amidst all the confusion , after all the turbulence … a melody that repeats as the days recur, as generations replenish … a thread of continuity in this world evolving beyond recognition

the words are layered from different worlds … the playful expanse of ee cummings (thank you @katielovelove ) … romantic mysticism of my friend Vaughan Pilikian … the spiritual naturalism of Tagore and gitanjali

A real dear to the heart project to create @augustcooke_ ‘s ethereal video for ‘On the line’ back in march at the essex countryside photographed by @lorenzoborzello

A great example for playful souls crossing paths and experiment in their genius.

An oasis, defiant with life…

video to On The Line out on Friday ! My track about the love that survives with careful nurture. Thank you to all of you for listening so far 🙏🏼

Made with @lorenzoborzello and @mirafinta back in March, in the essex countryside around my grandad’s garden. His life’s work has been to enable nature to thrive despite the toxic agrochemicals that pollute the waterways… by @augustcooke_
