I shrank down J Crew’s 75 Spring St location! What an amazing project to work on! I teamed up with @jcrew to make a 4 part mini series of their SoHo store! Beyond thankful to share my creativity and talent with the world! Special thanks to @mmmquite for making all these awesome shoes, and @samanthajsmith67 for making all of the mini clothing! Over the last year, I’ve had the opportunity to work in the art department on some really cool sets! This was one of my favorites because I got to fabricate two outta 4 of these owl heads for @loopearplugs! With the trust of my former boss Sara Foldenauer, I was able to take lead on this shoot! Just me playing around with my toys. Working myself into one of my miniature sets and experimenting with angles to blur the line between miniature and real life.

Also, little life update: we officially moved! I’ve been quiet because everything has been packed up, but I’m finally getting settled and getting the new studio together!

New space. New chapter. New work coming soon.

That’s what I sat down to explore with August Riche on Tiny Worlds, Big Stories.

August is a miniaturist, set designer, fabricator, and storyteller—and a familiar face from Best in Miniature. Her work bridges the gap between small-scale dioramas and full-scale commercial sets, bringing hip-hop history, graffiti, and iconic spaces into sharp focus.

AI is changing the way we create, but there are some things technology just can’t replace. The time, intention, imperfections, problem solving and pieces of ourselves that we leave behind in the things we make by hand.

Working in set design has always been a dream of mine! I’ve been an art assistant for the last 2 years working with one of the best set designers on the planet @nicholasdesjardins! This was a set he designed for a Clinique shoot a little while back! So fortunate to learn from the best of the best!
