POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED

What happens when you take a piece of culture, a memory, or a space you love… and shrink it down?

That’s what I sat down to explore with August Riche on Tiny Worlds, Big Stories.

August is a miniaturist, set designer, fabricator, and storyteller—and a familiar face from Best in Miniature. Her work bridges the gap between small-scale dioramas and full-scale commercial sets, bringing hip-hop history, graffiti, and iconic spaces into sharp focus.

In this episode, we talk about growing up in Queens, the influence of Black culture on her creative discipline, making miniatures of real places and people, and how building tiny worlds eventually opened doors to full-scale production work.

When you make a world smaller, you don’t lose the detail—you actually make the story easier to see.

New episode with August Riche (@augustriche) is live now. Listen wherever you get your podcasts or watch on YouTube. Link in bio. 🎙️✨

Happy Birthday in Heaven, Daddy. 🤍

Don Blackman

September 1, 1953-April 11, 2013

I miss you every single day, and I hope you’re looking down proud of me and the way we continue to honor your incredible legacy. Your music, your spirit, and your memory will live on forever. There is still so much more to come. 🎶✨

Sharing this beautiful moment of Bilal singing “Since You’ve Been Away So Long” at Daddy’s sold-out tribute concert at City Winery, where his family, friends, fellow musicians, and fans came together to celebrate just how deeply he is loved.

Happy Birthday, Daddy. Your sound will live forever. 🕊️❤️

What a beautiful month it’s been. 💛

From celebrating AJ’s milestones, sharing the stage, creating new music, honoring my dad’s legacy, and being surrounded by so much love… my heart is full.

Thank you to my love for the sweetest surprise party, and to everyone who came out to celebrate with me. Here’s to another year of faith, family, music, and making memories. 🥂✨

Friendsgivings 2025 was a success. Being able to serve our community, feed displaced individuals, show up for each other and enjoy great company with great food. Super blessed and grateful for my friendships and the village we have created 🤍
