A flashback to September 2022. An early "I think I can do this again" look. It had been 20 years since my last real dress up. Since then. I had gained weight, glasses, and a bum knee. I had survived economic downturns, a pandemic and even moved out of the city. In that time though, I raised two kids with my partner, maintained a full time career and even started more than one business. So no regrets. At least I still had my hair in spite of my age and even Covid's assault on my body. I wasn't sure what size I even wore any more. I forgot how to use makeup (probably a good thing to relearn). Godspeed to this legend and icon. Heaven gained a other angel today and we lost one. Dolly was everywhere when I was growing up. TV, radio, her own theme park... and she was so famous, but always so nice to everyone. And she grew up barely an hour from where I did in Tennessee. She was such a role model for us all. Her children's book chairty was so beautiful and always touched my heart. She was truly one of a kind. I know that's not the real Dolly with me in the second photo. Dolly herself once said she entered a Dolly Parton look-a-like contest.... and lost! A little Dolly lives in each and every one of us. I love you Dolly.
