Oh what a weekend!! @tripridetn 4th Annual Second Chance Prom was a hit for sure.

We are all mostly a bunch of regulars now (but we did talk @stella_brightly into her first time! (And she came in with a “Best Dressed” nomination!) and it is almost a homecoming of sorts, but every year it honestly feels a little better. I don’t realize just how much I miss all my east coast girls until we are all just around the table talking about whatever.

It’s those whatever moments. When you can see and feel us all relax a little more. When we let ourselves be a little silly, while we are fixing all the problems of the world or just talking smack to each other. Everyone has a story and everyone wants to hear it. It feels like the world just stops for a little bit to give us this time.🥰🥰🥰

I did make my headband/fascinator and earrings out of real candy for the “Glitter and Gumdrops” theme, so I had to indulge in that bitter sweetness at the end of the night with a bite 🍬

Thank you @bellevita_formaggio for starting up this sweet sweet tradition of real connection.

I was going to wait until Saturday to post this, but since it’s #throwbackthursday I thought I’d post a throwback to what I affectionately call Second Chance Weekend, when I was blessed with the opportunity to travel to the @tripridetn Second Chance Prom last year. That trip was one for the memory books! I finally got to meet some wonderful people in person, make lots of memories, and get some really meaningful healing when I hugged several people whom I’d honestly wronged the year before. I left with a full heart, and lots of great memories.

This weekend is TriPride’s 2026 prom, and not gonna lie, I’ve got a little bit of FOMO not going (it just wasn’t feasible with PTown later this month too!), but I’m so excited to see everyone’s pictures, the outfits, and I’ll be there in spirit. Sending love to everyone going this weekend… give each other a big hug for me!

And from the bottom of my heart, thank you all so much for being so welcoming to me.

My Top 10 Moments of 2025…

Number 2: Second Chance Weekend

Okay, in practically any other year, this would have easily been number one because it represented so much of what I went into 2025 hoping to accomplish. In this one trip, I checked off almost half of my “crossdressers and trans women (and others) I hope to meet someday” list, made some wonderful memories with some wonderful people, and got some much needed healing.

Every year, a girl named Meghan helps host a Second Chance prom through @tripridetn , and people flock from far and wide to attend it. Some of the girls who come in rented an AirBnB in the area, and made a Girl’s Weekend out of it. Welp, my friend @natalie_on_a_journey and I were planning a get together in DC that just so happened to fall on the same weekend. When she found out, Natalie changed plans to go to the prom, and wanted me to come with her. I was very hesitant because, welp, while I’m eager to be in community with everyone there, there were at least a handful of girls there who I was a total asshole towards near the end of 2024… I honestly didn’t know how I’d be received… I’d buried the hatchet with almost everyone beforehand, but had honestly been kicking myself for my behavior ever since. But Natalie, my friend @divasapata , my gender identity coach @luvjennifermarie , and everyone else I bounced this idea off of encouraged me to go. And I’m glad I did!

A few of my IG friends were sharing memories from a girl’s weekend they got to do a couple of years ago, and looking at the picture, I think there were seven of them in that group that I had the honor of meeting in person for the first time this past summer during Second Chance Weekend. I’ll confess some FOMO from not getting involved in stuff like that sooner in my transition, and regret for how I behaved when I did finally want to get involved, but I’m so, so thankful that they all welcomed me with open arms and made me a part of the group! I truly felt like I was given a second chance!

If I wasn’t two weeks away from living my dream of being a bride, I’d say that the weekend I got to see all of them was EASILY the highlight of 2025 for me, and that’s saying something!

Off to the prom! If you've never been to a Second Chances prom, it's a great way to relive the prom experience the way you would've wanted to... as you can see from all of us decked out in our fine prom wear 💗

Kudos to @meghan.girltime and her team for putting on another amazing prom, which only seems to be getting bigger and better every year! Just look at that spread in pic 3... at this rate next year will have a full banquet! Who's coming? 😄

TriPride Prom Girl’s Weekend!! 🎊

Had a blast at last year’s prom, so of course I had to go back this year! Like before, we got an airbnb (thanks @olive_is_a!) and made a girl’s weekend of it. Staying with us were @natalie_on_a_journey and @divasapata who I hadn’t seen since Olive and Daddy’s wedding in Vegas, as well as @always.alicia.t and @melodyvonhawk who I met for the first time 🙌

After settling in at the airbnb, we headed out to dinner at Southern Craft BBQ. I’d been craving their Butcher Block (pic 4) ever since last year, and of course Olive had to get her tots (pic 2). Everything was so good! 😋 Joining us for dinner were @aunt.millicent and @thecdscarlettlove, it was a great time of seeing old friends and getting to know new ones, all over some amazing BBQ 🍖

That evening back at the aribnb, @llamameo_daddy whipped us up some fantastic cocktails with her Altos tequila and we enjoyed some more fellowship while toasting the beginning of another wonderful girl’s weekend 🥂

Second Chance Weekend Part 5:

Prom Time! After we all got out of the hot tub, we showered, changed, and glammed up for the prom. I’m a sucker for formal wear anyway, but I must say our group really brought it in our outfits. Us t-girls and our cis partners sure know how to clean up!

After spilling my makeup (thank you Kim and Olive for helping me clean it up), slipping into my gown (thank you Ana and Natalie for helping me get into it), we took group pictures and were ready to go!

There was such a healthy crowd of people at the prom… it brought so much joy to me to see such community in small towns in red states. There was laughter, hugs, smiles, selfies, and community everywhere. I genuinely struggle with trying to understand why such community is so controversial in our country because, frankly, there was nothing but positivity.

When the time came for a group picture, we all got together, and while the lighting was awful, to be included in this group of people I’ve become friends with over the past several years meant more to me than words can describe.

After the prom was over, some of us switched into party clothes and went to New Beginnings, an LGBTQ+ bar in the town, watched some drag, did some dancing, and took some photos. My highlight of that moment was seeing my friend Natalie get to the dance stage and just joyfully let loose. At about 1:30, we all loaded back up into the van, and joyfully drove back to the house. What a weekend!

Ahhh, Second Chances Prom...
Literally THE highlight from 2025.

My heart is full. 💕

3-4 blissful hours amongst total strangers (yet kindred spirits), new surprising faces, gigabytes of selfies, ELEGANZAAAA dialed to 11, Persephone's punch🍹, the ballroom dancers, the ✨VIBE✨, and all the gorgeous Themed outfits and gowns.
Gods, Fates, the Hoi Polloi. 💕

Awash in endorphins. Literally Blissful.

Bigly remiss if I don't mention the Four Instagirls who've made Second Chances their rendezvous for three years running.

The 2025 @tripridetn Second Chance Prom (or Meghan’s Prom as we all refer to it 😜) is a wrap! We had friends from Silicon Valley, New York, Virginia/D.C., Florida, Georgia, Alabama, Connecticut, and Florida all converge on @johnson_city_tennessee for a wonderfully inclusive night of dancing, drinking, telling stories, making new friends, and silly shenanigans.

It is healing to have a night where we can forget the negatives of this world and bloom a little 🌸

Sorry my giant head was all in your way Melody 🙈
