So grateful to @tandemcollectiveglobal for this #gifted copy of We’re Here, We’re Queer! A history of LGBTQ+ activism, a wonderful new book from @candlewickpress and @dr.illustration ! As an avid reader of books featuring any kind of LGBT+ representation, I’m excited to dive into more of the history as well, and love the illustrations too! I’m really glad that the history is presented in such an accessible format.

This wonderful book released October 6, so you can grab your copy now!

Blurb:
A gorgeously illustrated, accessible celebration of queer activism-its history, people, and culture-by the New York Times best-selling creator of Suffragette. This illustrated history of LGBTQ+ activism brings to life stories of resistance, friendship, love, fear, division, unity, and astonishing perseverance in the face of discrimination and oppression. From the secret slang adopted by gay Londoners in the 1960s to decades of sit-ins and marches, from the Stonewall uprising to the dazzling history of drag, this is a wide-ranging and inclusive account of a multifaceted movement that continues to this day. Evocative prose puts readers deeply into key moments and showcases the words and personalities of figures from queer history, including Harvey Milk, Julian Hows, Carla Toney, Crystal LaBeija, We’wha, Vincent Jones, Marsha P. Johnson, Alan Turing, Sylvia Rivera, and many more. Masterful and joyful artwork by beloved author-illustrator David Roberts makes this a keepsake book for queer families and anyone who values the history of this struggle. David Roberts includes hundreds of portraits, giving faces AND voices to often overlooked heroes. He includes a personal introduction and fact-filled timelines; back matter includes a bibliography and an afterword from This Book Is Gay author Juno Dawson.

✨COVER REVEAL FOR BARGAINING WITH BEASTS!✨
I’m so EXCITED to help reveal the cover of BARGAINING WITH BEASTS by @danaswiftbooks !

Illustration was done by the beyond talented @charliebowater and the cover design was by the amazing @anto_marrt . BARGAINING WITH BEASTS comes out June 15, 2027 with @wednesdaybooks ! You can preorder now!

Blurb:
Dana Swift returns to the enchanting world of When Dealing With Dragons with a swoony new couple, fake-dating, coworkers-to-lovers, and even more intrigue!

It doesn’t matter what you do as long as you’re the best.

The Quinn family motto is you’re the best, or you’re nothing. That’s how they stay on top of Hardsill’s silver-crafting society. Unfortunately for middle daughter Teagan, she’s never been the best at anything, besides getting into trouble. So when poachers steal her dragon, she’s more than ready to bend the rules to save her dear animal’s life—and a boy with green eyes isn’t going to stop her.

Being held at knife-point by a pretty girl isn’t the worst thing that’s happened to Fin Barry. Not when he’s a ‘lowly’ iron-crafter parenting his little sister, paying off his grandfather’s debt, and working as a double-agent to end dragon poaching. When Teagan Quinn insists they go undercover and fake-date to find her dragon and destroy the worst poaching ring in Hardsill, it could be the answer to all his problems. As long as he can stop himself from falling in love. He knows the stakes of romance across metal classes far too well.

But Teagan and Fin can’t help blurring the lines between reality and the lie, even while the fallout of a society-shattering revelation crashes around them. Together, they’ll have to bargain beyond the old system, because it’s not just dragon lives at stake.

Bonding with dragons gave humans the ability to metal craft—now dragon-kind is in need of saving in the must-read Bargaining with Beasts.

Rose Kultavaris has always believed that power was the answer. Power to protect. Power to avenge. Power to choose her own fate.

But she was wrong.

Power is not a blessing. It is a curse.

Now she stands in a hidden city of ice and knowledge, where nothing is as savage as she was taught to believe, and everything she thought she knew about loyalty, heritage, and destiny begins to unravel.

As enemies circle closer and prophecies rise, Rose must train harder than ever to master the magic once ripped from her, even if Kyor despises the man tasked with teaching her.

Tension coils between them as Kyor remains bound by a vow that is strangling them both, torn between crown and conscience, duty and the woman he would burn the world to protect.

When war breaches even the safest borders and blood stains sacred ground, Rose is forced to confront a truth that could unmake her entirely.

Because destiny has not just chosen her. It made her.

And it can unmake her just as easily.

Queen of Faces is my favorite book of 2026 (and maybe even my all time fav) and I’ve managed to get a couple copies of it, so I figured that I’d show off my collection! (Or maybe more accurately, my shrine for manifesting an ARC of the sequel😂😅) As you can tell I absolutely cannot wait for the sequel, King of Masks, releasing early next year! Petra knocked it out of the park with her debut and she is absolutely an instant/auto-buy author for me!

I’m currently working to bedazzle a copy and would love some feedback though, should I bedazzle the rest of the black on the cover in matte black or the iridescent I used for the border?

Copies featured:
Queen of Faces @faecrate edition
ARC copy (my most prized possession) generously given to me by @fiercereads
Deluxe edition x2 (one signed and personalized from when I met the wonderful @petralordauthor , one to bedazzle!)

Queen of Faces description:
A desperate girl at a cutthroat magical academy faces a choice between life and death: become an assassin for the enchanted elite or watch her decaying body draw its last breath.

Thank you so much to @dawbooks for this #gifted copy of The Thorns We Wear Inside by @averyamesauthor !! This dark gothic fantasy is the perfect read to get me ready for spooky season, and to celebrate Sapphic September!! (Also I promise I did actually read the full email 😂)

Blurb:
For fans of For the Wolf and Nettle & Bone comes a dark, romantic fantasy about a witch, a monster, and the two parasitic demons who’ll stop at nothing to keep them apart.

Raye is cursed. Living things crumble at her touch, drained by the demon who clings to her like a seductive, malevolent shadow. No wonder the townsfolk want her dead. Tormented and pursued, she seeks shelter in a mysterious castle at the heart of a forest. The castle is an eerie place. Its residents lie trapped in time like flies in amber, all save one. Mir.

Mir has a demon of her own, a creature that forces her to seek and crave blood. When the two women begin to use the castle’s trove of magic to unravel their curses, their demons unite. The parasites refuse to let their hosts escape, and perhaps even more dangerously, Mir can bear Raye’s poisonous touch: the first caress either of them has felt in years. As monster hunters close in on the forest, both Raye and Mir will have to break both the castle’s curse and the binds of their twisted quadrangle before the past catches up with them.

Seductive and cinematic, this dark fantasy has teeth. Step into the castle. If you dare.

Magic has always been at the periphery of Audra’s life. As a human, she knows that magic exists, but it’s as distant as the legends she grew up with. Until one day, magic returns, bringing with it the all too real Fae and upending Audra’s life entirely.

Abducted by a cult of fae Priestesses, Audra finds herself conscripted into a magical war academy. The only hope of surviving this new world filled with guilds, magic, and danger is to band together with a group of her fellow prisoners. Though unlike the others, Audra’s burgeoning magic is erratic and violent—just as the prophecy foretold. She must discover what it means to be the Heir, but time is running out. The Priestesses know the Heir moves among them, and they’re determined to root them out, no matter what it takes.

As she struggles to mask her power, Audra’s plagued by visions of a dark, seductive being with a conflicting truth. He doesn’t want to save the world; he plans to reclaim it.

Now, Audra must choose: become the savior the cult demands or the catalyst the vision promises.
