✨Love Potion Library Signing✨

On Sunday I travelled to San Francisco and spent the day there enjoying the city before @annadamswrites book signing @thelovepotionlibrary ! We visited union square, Chinatown, Fisherman’s Wharf where we watched part of Fleet week, and visited the seals!

We arrived at Love Potion and browsed the books before ordering some Rose Black tea to enjoy during the signing! If you haven’t been to love potion before they always have new books in stock and their selections of teas and pastries are incredible!

We got to enjoy hearing @annadamswrites talk about her book with her amazing conversation partner @marawilliamswrites ! A couple other author friends @elliepalmerwrites and @ginabanksbooks came which was so lovely! And we got to see a few book friends @thatbookdough @auroras.reading.realm and @tinkerbellreads who we adore!!

I was browsing the books and found a signed sprayed edge copy of Bloody Black by @rhiannonhargadon who my friend @feralreader.books has been raving about so I knew it was fate! I am actually screaming that I found it on the shelves and I will be reading it asap!

Thank you Love Potion for hosting us for a signing. It was so enjoyable and I can’t wait to come back to visit soon!

✨QOTD: Are you a tea person or a coffee person? And if neither Whats your drink of choice?✨

⁉️ If you had a magical familiar, would it be a BIG one (like a pegasus) or a LIL one (like a cat)? I'm kinda partial to the idea of having a sassy snake riding around on me and whispering office tea into my ear 🐍

If you've read @keshewrites Strange Familiars, you'll know that Seamere College has two tracks for different magical creatures vet training - Mythical Creatures and Magical Familiars! 💙 I was on Keshe's street team for this book and I had SO MUCH fun and have been frothing for the next instalment.

So a big heck yes that the COVER REVEAL for The Seamere College Duology, the sequel to Strange Familiars IS OFFICIALLY HERE! AND HOW PRETTY IS IT!!!

A HUGE congratulations to @keshewrites on the second book, and for this incredible cover!

This beautiful cover was done by the amazing @golightlyfinch, directed by Katie Anderson! Gwendolynne looks so c*nty here and I am obsessed with that for her!! 💜💜

Swipe to see the cover and the blurb! It's out JUNE 2027!!!

Tagging a few pals who I know are fellow Strange Familiars fans xxx

Have a lovely day angels!

THE BLURB 💜💙

Separated by a heroic act of sacrifice, a magical veterinarian must save both her heart and the world in the final installment of the Seamere College duology.

Gwendolynne Chan never thought she’d end up like this. As the top graduate of her Magical Veterinary Sciences degree, she should have landed a cushy role that would’ve set her up for life. Instead, she’s a low-level drudge in the animal breeding facility at Magecorp, the world’s largest global distributor of magic. Why? Because the man she loves got stuck in the Void, having nobly sacrificed himself to save her.

Now he needs rescuing, and Magecorp is Gwen’s key to doing so. Even if it means keeping her head down, putting up with her crappy job . . . and maybe, just maybe, committing some corporate espionage.

Harrisford Briggs did it for love. But upon reentry to the real world, he realizes that his time in the Void m

With pianos in the background, surrounded by flowers and Shakespeare himself, it was a wonderful day with the Bookish Bay Brigade!

We played games and shared books and then what we do best, read them!

Thank you all who joined Much Ado About Books!

two(ish) months, eight (ish) cities, one hell of a great time 🌈🐸

thank you so much to everyone who enabled and/or tolerated my tomfoolery while holding a microphone: my sparkling conversation partners and moderators who were so generous with their time and wisdom, the booksellers who took a chance on a debut and never failed to make me feel incredibly welcome, the readers who did the same, my intimidatingly cool and competent publicists @charlotterosamundwinstone and @stuffmumslike and my UK and Australian pub teams @harperfirebooks and @harperyaau for all the behind the scenes support, and also @rob.mann for tagging along to more book events than any partner should be expected to and making sure I ate.

hope to see you all again!

⁉️ Salty or sweet snacks- which do you reach for more? No bag of chips is safe around me, but I can't stop thinking about the cake one of my pals made for DND this weekend that had a lil D20 dice made out of icing 🙂‍↕️🥹🥹

It's been way too long since I did one of these!!! Time management who is she! It is no longer Sunday for Shoutout Sunday so let's go with Motivational Monday 💪💪❤️❤️

Whenever I go to do one of these I end up realising just HOW MANY amazing people there are in this community and my list ends up overflowing. So I need to so another one again SOOON!!! It also makes me so happy reflecting on the wonderful humans here 🥰🥰🥰

The theme of this one is (some of the) creators who make me proud to be here! Whether it's their creative talent, work ethic, living their values or adding a lil something special, these are a few of the wonderful people that make me proud to be here!!!!

I did have a little laugh at putting Sophie, Sophie and Soph next to each other 🤣

Check them out or just give some love and vibes to ppl you're proud of in the comments! 💕💕💕💕

Attended a special release party at @thelovepotionlibrary for Mirrorwoven by @sorrynotbori. The event was put together and moderated by @auroras.reading.realm. So fun getting to chat with Bori all the way from Australia and do some book bedazzling.

Also got some sourdough from @thatbookdough!

⁉️ Happy Sunday girlies, gays, theys and softbois. What's your home space like today? I have finally moved almost everything back into my study after the flood back in October (it has been a TIME) and it is bringing me so much joy rn!! All my books are back out!!!! I am writing this from my reading corner eeee!!!! (The rest of the house is a bomb but ignore that shhhhh)

I'm considering whether I post a physical shelfie of the updated space???? Buuuuut I thought for #shelfiesunday I would start with my @netgalley shelf at the moment! If you've been here for a while you'll know that I let my Netgalley and physical review shelf get out of control for a hot minute earlier this year, and perfectionist that I am, I cannot stand to miss a deadline. My rule after this has been no more than 10 Netgalley ARCs on the shelf at any one time, and so far I have stuck to it! 😌😌😌

My current shelf is full of what I expect to be ALL BANGERS NO CLANGERS, with lotssss of gothic, horror, queer and fantasy books.

Tagging some pals whose NG shelves I'd love to see, but never any pressure ❤️❤️

My shelves have...
❤️ The Finalist by @byfaithgladwin (sapphic ballet horror)
✨️ Chateau Reverie by @natashacsiegel (mf bi rococo horrormantasy)
❤️ Vow of the Eternal Night by @lilycantstopreading (gothic vampire Beauty and the Beast retelling)
✨️ As You Wake Break the Shell by @beckychambers (sapphic ecopunk scifi)
❤️ She Haunts me Still by @wordsbyde (southern gothic phantom of the opera ffm love triangle)
✨️ Homeward for a Spell by @jamiepacton and @beccapodos (cosy queer fantasy adventure)
❤️ The Halls of the Dead by @smhallowink (ffm necromancy horrormance)
✨️ Books, Iced Coffee and a Side of Dragons by @ladybookman (cosy sapphic/queer barista and bookstore fantasy graphic novel)
❤️ The Castle and the Cloister by @lauraeweymouth (feminine rage high fantasy)
✨️ Baldur's Gate 3: Astarion by @tkingfisher (needs no introduction)

I'm going to keep slowlyyyyy diving into these across the hectic next little while! Sending lots of love this Sunday angels, and let me know if any of these are on your tbr xx
