Opening in January 2027 in Washington, D.C., this presentation marks an extraordinary institutional milestone: a special two-and-a-half-year stay at one of the world’s leading Holocaust memorial and educational institutions.

October, 1944 | 1,000 young people between ages of 12 and 18 are murdered in the gas chamber of crematorium III, including 357 young Jews who arrived the same day from an auxiliary camp in the village of Dyherrnfurth that belonged to the Groß-Rosen camp.

October 18, 1943 | Some 1,000 Jewish men and women from a labor camp in Zawiercie are deported to Auschwitz.

Following the selection, 249 men and 152 women are admitted to the camp. The other 600 deportees are murdered immediately in the gas chambers.

He was a Kapo in the kitchen & was known for his brutality. He also organized and subsequently led the first camp orchestra.
