What a glorious fall day today, blue skies, sunshine and a gorgeous breeze that made the trees dance ❤️
I spent time outside practicing my sagats, taking advantage of the beautiful weather before winter comes. I am learning a sagat solo online from @hanymorgan0 & am so honored to be able to spend time with such an amazing musician & I want to get it just right ☺️🌟 by @ausetbellydance

Au Set Bellydance turns 20 today!

Twenty years ago, I had a dream: to turn my passion for bellydance into a wonderful, welcoming space where people could come together to learn, dance, create and celebrate the art of Egyptian Dance.

And so, Au Set Bellydance was born.

The studio had a spectacular mural of the pyramids covering one wall—a source of inspiration for everyone who walked through the door to learn and dance.

And then there was the boutique! Costumes for dancers, fabrics and sewing classes so you could create your own costumes, music, videos, jewelry and so much more. It was Canada’s only studio of its kind—a one-stop bellydance destination.

Over the seven years the studio was open, I had the incredible privilege of teaching thousands of students, inviting world-renowned dancers to Winnipeg to teach, and hosting shows, parties and community events.

The studio closed its doors in 2013, but the name Au Set Bellydance carries on. I have continued under the name to perform, teach and share my love of bellydance and Egyptian Dance.

I am eternally grateful to everyone who was a part of my dream & for the memories that will last forever.

If you took a class with me, performed with me, came to a show, shopped at the boutique, or were simply part of the Au Set community, drop a note and say hi! I’d love to hear from you!
