Jesus offered thanks even when suffering was near. That’s why the word “Eucharist” means thanksgiving. At the table, He invites us to remember not just His sacrifice, but His gratitude in the midst of it. by @austinludwig

It’s time to share my story through music. “Suffering Saints” is the first chapter. After aging out of foster care and trying to make sense of a God who is good, I wrote this. Coming Friday 05/29 by @austinludwig

Healing doesn’t happen simply because you found people who understand where you are. It happens when you find people who can also see where you’re not yet—people who understand the agony of your pain but also know something about the wholeness you’re missing.

The goal isn’t to find people who have arrived. On this side of heaven, none of us have. We all walk with a limp. But there are people further down the road whose lives carry visible fruit of healing. They can recognize where you are without convincing you to stay there.

Far too many communities become wounded people leading wounded people, bleeding on one another and calling it belonging. Pain becomes what binds everyone together, but no one knows how to lead anyone beyond it.

I see influential voices online grow enormous audiences because they are exceptionally good at naming wounds. People feel seen by them and that matters, but some can tell you exactly why you hurt and almost nothing about how to heal. They can name your pain because they share it, but they cannot show you the road to peace because they have not learned that road themselves.

Sometimes healing begins when we leave the echo chamber. Find people who understand your wounds. But also find people whose lives make you believe healing is possible. by @austinludwig

We call out hypocrisy because the faith is not most wounded by its anti-faith critics, but by its counterfeits by @austinludwig

Maybe God isn’t breaking you. Maybe He is removing what’s been breaking you.

Walking through a traumatic childhood that led to foster care, I’ve discovered healing sure does hurt. I’m glad God hurt me so I could heal. by @austinludwig

Flourishing is not the same as feeling good. The path to flourishing is the path God calls us down, and if feeling good becomes our core motivation, we may miss the abundant life He is forming in us. Remember, the enemy didn’t tempt Jesus with greater hardship, but with a way around it: an easier path that bypassed obedience. God is by no means “out to get us,” but He is serious about our formation—serious enough to love us with a blade. If He who was without sin was led into the wilderness before beginning His ministry, how much more should we expect God to prune what still needs forming in us? by @austinludwig
