With a book coming out in a few weeks, this seems like the right time to re-introduce myself. I’m G F Miller and this is my author account/dogstagram/mom brag reel. Here are my answers to some randomly generated questions designed to prove I’m not an AI bot:
What books have you written?
- GLIMPSED – in which a teenage fairy godmother’s wish granting goes completely off the rails (S&S 2020)
- NOT IF YOU BREAK UP WITH ME FIRST – about two best friends who never wanted to date in the first place (Aladdin, 2024)
- WHAT IF YOU FALL FOR ME FIRST – in which the coolest jerk in school agrees to help a shy girl get her crush’s attention (Aladdin, 2025)
Where can people find your books?
- Bookstores, Walmart, the world wide web, garage sales, hypothetical desert islands...and your local library!
Who would like your books?
- My books are perfect for anyone who reads for entertainment, likes to smile, and doesn’t think happy endings are gauche. You probably won’t like them if you prefer horror, thrillers, philosophy, turn-of-the-century Russian prose, or insect encyclopedias.
Can you identify boats, bicycles, and trains from various angles and distances?
- Yeah, I can. I’m great at it, actually.
What do you do when you’re not writing?
- Lately, I’ve been spending a ridiculous amount of time making an 8-second Instagram video. I can also be found:
o Carting the youth of America around in a busted old Toyota.
o Taking walks with my bae (Can we still say bae? Was it ever cool?)
o Hanging out at dance competitions, cheering on mini-me.
o Taking *very* difficult oral pop quizzes from my son about the minutia of every Zelda game.
o Identifying pictures of boats, bicycles, and trains.
o Reading and listening to books (often simultaneous with all of the above).
What’s your favorite book?
- This is obviously a trick question. If any author answers this question, it’s a big red flag that they’re probably an AI bot.

Unpopular opinions?
- Flower bouquets. I hate them. They’re pretty for like 90 seconds, and then they slowly decompose on my counter while I darkly contemplate that death comes for us all.

JT Bellamy needs no introduction. Everybody knows JT! Wait, you seriously don’t, for real?! Okay, well, JT is a junior at Glen Lakes High School, he *carries* the football team, and he’s everyone’s crush. Everyone’s. If you Google “nice guy,” you’ll get twenty three pictures of JT Bellamy. And, oh yeah, Eve is lucky enough to be talking to him!

JT, OMG, it’s such an honor. Can you just tell us a little about yourself?!

What’s your ride? “I drive a powder blue Buick Sedan. Don’t laugh! My Bubbe gave it to me.”

Siblings? “I have a little sister. She’s in junior high, and if anyone messes with her, we will have words.”

Fave food? “My bubbe’s homemade bread.”

Pet peeve? “I know this sounds old fashioned, but it really bothers me when guys don’t, you know, meet a girls’ parents and open doors for her. Dress nice for dates. Show respect, you know? I guess what I’m trying to say is, I still believe in chivalry.”

Red flag? (Don’t even answer that! Who are we kidding – you are green flags all around, JT!) “Uh, gosh. Thanks?”

Secret crush? “Well, from the first time I saw Eve McNeil, she caught my eye. She’s smart and fun and has a great personality. I was thinking about asking her to Homecoming, actually.”

Pretty sure the entire internet is jealous rn! She’s so lucky! Keep us posted on that situation, JT!

Andrew is BACK! Admit it, he’s been your book boyfriend since Not if You Break Up With Me First. But he doesn’t want to talk about the embarrassing things he did in junior high, so let’s not bring up apples or glow paint or forks or eggs or fart tag. Mmm-kay?

Andrew, tell us all about high school you!

Fave subject in school: English. We’re doing a poetry unit, and it’s pretty cool–even though the teacher obviously hates kids and poetry and joy.

Extracurriculars: Drumming is life! High school marching band is leveled up! We’re doing a fieldshow, going to competitions, and playing in the stands during football games. I might become the youngest section leader in history!

Siblings: My brother Tom is two years older than me. I love my brother, but I *hate* being compared to him. Also, he has a history of giving me not the best dating advice.

Fave dinner: Casserole, I guess. That’s all my mom makes, so if I didn’t like it, I’d starve.

Pet peeve: Mixed signals. The silent treatment. Expecting me to read your mind. And everything Holden Thomas does and says.

Red flag: I overthink everything kind of a lot. It’s a problem.

Secret crush (don’t worry, we won’t tell anyone): I don’t know. No one? Claudette? I’m definitely NOT going to roll it back with Eve. Unless she likes me first. Why? Have you heard something?

MAYBE WE’RE MEANT TO LAST bits shelves one month from today! It’s time to meet some characters 😍

First up: Eve
You first met Eve in Not if You Break Up With Me First. Now EVE IS BACK in Maybe We’re Meant to Last. Freshman year is starting, and Eve is determined not to let her teensy-weensy crush on Andrew spiral until it breaks the world like it did in eighth grade. Will she be able to salvage her friendship with Andrew after accidentally, humiliatingly breaking one of the bedrock rules of the Friendzone?! Let’s ask her.

Eve - It’s been a while! Catch us up!

Fave subject in school: I’m a math and science girl. Catch me in the STEM hall!
Extracurriculars: Cross Country! Running is Life. But also–and I know this sounds crazy–I decided to try out for cheer this year! All the stunts and tumbling just look so fun, and I’m up for the challenge!
Siblings: I’m an only child. Andrew and I grew up across the street from each other, so you might think he’s like a brother to me. But you’d be wrong.
Fave snack: I could honestly eat Andrew’s mom’s brownies four times a day.
Pet peeve: Ugh. Close talkers, mole hairs, Adam & Eve jokes, gross noises. I could keep going.
Red flag: My biggest red flag is probably my overreactions. But I’m on it. My high school personality is going to be Totally Level Headed and Happy All the Time.
Secret crush (don’t worry, we won’t tell anyone): It’s not a secret. I’m talking to JT - the star of the varsity football team. (Entire internet looks skeptical.) FINE! I still have a microscopic crush on Andrew. It’s actually no big deal. We’re friends - that’s it. I’m serious. What?! LOOK AWAY!

The AZ SCBWI PALs (published and listed) authors met up at Changing Hands bookstore yesterday. Such a great time with these inspiring authors and illustrators!

You’re probably thinking, “Man, I wish I could hang out with that fun looking group of people and glean their craft knowledge and publishing wisdom.” Good news - we will all be at the SCBWI AZ conference on November 14.
