Wow! I just can't look at this cover and comprehend that this is happening to me!

I will do a reel soon, but for now, I shall leave this here. Just sitting in all its glory. I wish I could do exiting post but at the moment, I have PE kits to locate, washing up to do and a poorly boy to cuddle!

Exciting news!!!!

I wrote a book and please watch this space; it will be out there in the world next year!

I loved writing it, re-writing it, editing it and even loved to hate it, but I've never given up, despite the knocks and trying to get my head around the publishing world, which is a full time career in itself!

The lovely and supportive crew at @cranthorpemillner are publishing my book and I'm excited to see how 2024 will pan out. I'm thrilled to have signed with them and can't wait to hold my women's fiction book in my hand.

Happy bookshop day! We are so lucky to have book sellers that day in and day out, just love books. Although I don't have an independent books shop nearby in Oxfordshire, I have encountered some really supportive ones in Warwickshire, which is luckily, also local to me. In particular, @kenilworthbooks, @warwick_books and of course @warwickshire_libraries.

I would also like to celebrate @1in200.uk, and for being part of this initiative. It's such a creative way for indie authors to get their books into local book shops.

I'm off to finish a beta reading that I hope I'll see in the shops someday, @sarahscallyauthor .

I just feel a bit silly and sorry for myself.

My time is precious and hearing only silence makes me sad.

We've been mainly at home this summer. It's been a mixed bag and if I was a % woman, I would say, 30% happy and the rest has been utter shite. The good bits have been made fab with moments spent with @alisoncarter7500, @lisawhiterainbow, @lindsay1644 and family.

The pants bit was we lost our cat Patch this summer. He went out over seven weeks ago now but he's not been seen since. I can't express how much he has meant to me in that short time, he was calming when life was rubbish, and was my little friend. I miss him but he's gone.

To top it off we haven't had our holiday yet, everyone is scratchy with each other and the autumn knitwear is in the shops. 🤪🍁🍁🍁

But downtime awaits and we need it.

Patch, I hope you are having a happy life without us and getting those cuddles you love. by @authorsarahwhitton

I am only allowed to wear these sunglasses away from the menfolk, I live with. They laugh at me, so I wear them more!

Also, this weekend was a great day with @warwickshire_libraries and @karenstoreyauthor and @erin_green_author. There was a great little event at the @whitnashciviccentre which as well as writers yakking on, there was ice cream, poetry readings and family fun.

Always a pleasure.

I didn't know this was a thing but as I write the sequel to The Ravers, I've found I add places of comfort for my characters. Hideaways they can retreat to when they want to feel centred again.

A bit like me.

I loved this bandstand as a kid and every time I wrote about Marie as a teen or a grown up, she seemed to gravitate there. It became a thing.

Then I realised the allotment I discovered years ago was back, but this time with Louise in #idstc. She made new friends, discovered a love of growing, gardening and teamwork and I remember that too. Those summers of chatting to the gardeners over the fence and waking up to a carrier bag of lettuces hung on the gate are moments I still think of.

These places aren't grand or magnificent but they offer something special, something earthy and worthwhile.

Is anyone else addicted to this show? ⬆️? Why are we not talking about it as much as Off Campus, which I loved by the way, but for different reasons.

Four Seasons is full of warmth, humour, in fact proper silly moments and the characters are all facing midlife issues with grace and strops. I loved it. I related to Kate's marathon rant in season two, I loved the will they won't they situation and so much more.

If you wanna see the main players experiencing midlife angst but wearing very cool boots, watch this. Xx by @authorsarahwhitton

Well it's been a busy few days, power cuts and tummy bugs have not helped my plan. There's always something.

But for now I sit back and see what happens. Who knows? What I do know is this time, the submission process is different for me.

Power is knowledge and I'm very realistic about the whole damn thing!

I have supportive writer friends, we're all in it together, muddling our way through. What will be, will be!

I have well and truly lost it! Formatting is not something I understand or even see. And yes, I do have my contact lenses in.

My mind filters out gaps between paragraphs, sorry publishers. But with the help of @karenstoreyauthor and @amyorrell_author, I may have just cracked it.

Anyone else in this boat?
