What random shit is bringing YOU joy this week? πŸŒŸπŸ’–πŸŒŸπŸ’–πŸŒŸπŸ’–πŸŒŸ Life is HARD, right? So thank goodness for random glimmers of joy. And if I can actually help you out with a glimmer or two? Well that’s just even better. πŸŒŸπŸ’–πŸŒŸπŸ’–πŸŒŸπŸ’–πŸŒŸ I spent my entire week off work last week (and many weeks before that too, if I’m honest) crafting and building a mini app called β€˜Your Body Knows Your Truth’. It’s specifically designed for neurodivergent people (like me) who often feel floored by stress and overwhelm - particularly in social situations. πŸŒŸπŸ’–πŸŒŸπŸ’–πŸŒŸπŸ’–πŸŒŸ This cute little app sits on your Home Screen and you can tap on it to be instantly offered a simple, gentle writing prompt to bring you back to yourself. If you want to sit down with a cuppa and your favourite journal, you absolutely can - but you can also copy the prompt into the notes on your phone and do it from there. You do you and that’s what’s so beautiful about it. πŸŒŸπŸ’–πŸŒŸπŸ’–πŸŒŸπŸ’–πŸŒŸ Have you tried it yet? If not, pop the word MINI-APP in the comments and I’ll send you the direct link. Honestly, writing has helped me so much over the years with navigating my autistic brain and trusting myself in situations that previously felt torturous. This is my gift to you and I hope you love it. Let this be the random shit that gets you through the week!! πŸ˜‚

5 ways indie authors can save your Christmas (without sending your bank balance into cardiac arrest) πŸ‘‡ 1️⃣ Protect the rep 2️⃣ Stealthy onboarding 3️⃣ Dodge the new year dip 4️⃣ Finally feel flush 5️⃣ Dream a little dream A lot of the posts I see here on socials are about reasons why you SHOULD support indie authors on the regs. Whilst I support these with a full and genuine heart, I also think there's a lot indie authors can offer buyers at this time of year. In fact scrap that, I think we can actually SAVE your Christmas. So, before you click buy on the latest buzz item on Temu, or grab whatever's trending off Tesco's shelves, take a breather and consider buying at least one indie (or small press) author book. Whilst this is by no means an exhaustive list, I'll take this opportunity to recommend you look up these beauties: @helen.aitchison_writes @lkwildeauthor @authorsarahwhitton @amyorrell_author @chrissieparkerauthor @cmserpellauthor @michaela_trueman_author @bethrainauthor @druzif @eviealexanderauthor @margaret_amatt_author @love_lindisfarne @danskireads @enniauthor @ahuntingford9 @jodie_loves_books @isabella_may_author @this_is_lee_hall @richardhandy_author

It’s here! The Life is Yours Self-Care journal is now available on Amazon! πŸ“– ✍️ πŸ’œπŸ“– ✍️ πŸ’œ I can’t believe I’ve finally made this happen as it’s been an idea I’ve had at the back of my mind for years. After all the incredible reader responses I got to the #lifeisyoursseries especially saying how much Jess’s journey had made them think about and change their own lives, I knew a journal could be a beautiful offer. πŸ“– ✍️ πŸ’œπŸ“– ✍️ πŸ’œ So whether you’ve read the Life is Yours books or not, this journal is a gorgeous, self-directed way to reflect, rise and reclaim your own story. If you’ve ever felt a tiny bit out of touch with who you really are and what you really want, this journal will help you embrace the art of rising again. πŸ“– ✍️ πŸ’œπŸ“– ✍️ πŸ’œ The link to buy is in my bio and before you rush to buy it for someone special in your life, what about YOU? Maybe start with you. πŸ“– ✍️ πŸ’œπŸ“– ✍️ πŸ’œ Love you all so much. 😘😘😘

My first read of September is a book I picked up at a local Book Extravaganza where I met the author @authorsarahwhitton and she kindly signed the book for me. I was so invested in the main character Louise’s journey to find love that I was getting frustrated with her and wanted to shake her at times. I loved her friends and Louise’s relationship with them. The writing made me feel part of her group. I also loved that the book had its own playlist on Spotify and you can scan the inside of the book to download it. The playlist links to the bands mentioned in the story and I loved that! Honestly get buying this book for a rollercoaster of a journey with Louise that will make you laugh, make you angry and make you cry! Fantastic work Sarah πŸ‘πŸ» can’t wait for your next book! #newauthor #book #bookreview #bookreviewer #bookstagram

Do you ever look back on something you created in the past and think, 'Wow, was that really me?' ✨ πŸ‡ΉπŸ‡· 🌞 🍹 ✨ πŸ‡ΉπŸ‡· Being an author is such a weird thing. You pour your absolute heart into something; live it, breathe it, eat it and sleep it for months; neglect many other parts of your life in favour of it; lose yourself and find yourself all at the same time and THEN you have to summon the courage to put it out into the world. ✨ πŸ‡ΉπŸ‡· 🌞 🍹 ✨ πŸ‡ΉπŸ‡· You feel you've been consumed. And honestly? You kind of have. ✨ πŸ‡ΉπŸ‡· 🌞 🍹 ✨ πŸ‡ΉπŸ‡· Still, once it's out there, and if your soul is hopelessly creative like mine, then you move on to the next project. The next thing that has snarled your heart and stolen your senses. It's not that you don't still love the thing that consumed you, it's just that (like a snake shedding its skin) your whole biology needs to renew. Refresh. Re-create. ✨ πŸ‡ΉπŸ‡· 🌞 🍹 ✨ πŸ‡ΉπŸ‡· And since this book, Destiny is Yours, I've done that three times. Three books ago Destiny is Yours is the thing that held me at loving gunpoint. And if you've read it, you will absolutely know that because my whole self is in those pages. It recently got a new 5-star review from @authorsarahwhitton that reminded me how proud I am of this little book. So much so that I decided to read it again myself. ✨ πŸ‡ΉπŸ‡· 🌞 🍹 ✨ πŸ‡ΉπŸ‡· This kind of decision can be an epic fail for an author as they trawl through sentences they'd totally re-write now or plot points that make them want to crawl under the nearest boulder. But so far, on this re-read, I'm not looking for any boulders. And it feels great! ✨ πŸ‡ΉπŸ‡· 🌞 🍹 ✨ πŸ‡ΉπŸ‡· Shamelessly, would highly recommend. ✨ πŸ‡ΉπŸ‡· 🌞 🍹 ✨ πŸ‡ΉπŸ‡· If you've ever been to Turkey and loved it, would highly recommend. ✨ πŸ‡ΉπŸ‡· 🌞 🍹 ✨ πŸ‡ΉπŸ‡· If you're at all into romance, beaches, travel, fortune-telling, friendship, sunshine, self-discovery and, as Sarah Whitton puts it, 'escapsim you can believe', would highly recommend. ✨ πŸ‡ΉπŸ‡· 🌞 🍹 ✨ πŸ‡ΉπŸ‡· Tell me, have you ever looked back on something you created ages ago and thought, yeah, I did something right? Tell me all about it!
